Fightstar formed in late 2003 after an impromptu jam session at a party in Charlie Simpson's London home. Simpson, impressed by their ability, soon asked the members to join a band. Soon after a few songs had been written the band recruited bassist Dan Haigh, a schoolfriend of guitarist Alex Westaway. The band are heavily influenced by the author Chuck Palahniuk, with the band naming a song after him (Palahniuk's Laughter) and including a drawing of Edward Norton's Character in the film of Palahniuk book 'Fight Club' on the reverse side of the EP.
The band soon had made a reputation and played many festivals, playing the Main Stage at the Carling Festival, Reading and Leeds. They have also made appearances playing the Snickers Stage at the Download Festival and played 2 consecutive years at T in the Park; first opening the NME stage

FIGHTSTAR & FOREVER WEDNESDAY ON RED BULL BEDROOM JAM, PLUS WIN TICKETS TO CAMDEN X-CRAWL!!!
Catch the Red Bull Bedroom Jam webcast on March 30th to watch a special show from Fightstar who are currently promoting their new single Mercury Summer which is out April 6th. The webcast will also feature Farnham-based rock band Forever Wednesday, who have gathered a strong following all around the UK and are set to record their brand new EP at Long Wave Studios with Romesh Dodangoda (Funeral for a Friend, Glassjaw, Kids in Glass Houses) in March 2009.
As well as enjoying an exclusive interview with the Fightstar boys and Forever Wednesday's live performance, during the webcast viewers will also have the opportunity to enter a competition to win 2 tickets to the Camden X-Crawl where the impressive line-up will consist of Dananananaykroyd, The Dead Formats, Hatcham Social, Howling Bells, Attack! Attack!, Furthest Drive Home, My Passion, Future of the Left and many more. The tickets will also include entry to the exclusive aftershow party.
