Lately
Well folks just thought i'd give you all an update on whats been happening with Middleman in the past and what we have planned in the near future.
1st off for anyone who doesn't know our Drummer Scott Neil and his wife Morag had a baby girl on the 16th of January. Alexis Neil. We wish them all the best and hope they get a few hours sleep in the next month or two.
2ndly We recently played at the Bodog Battle of the bands City Finals at the Carling Academy Glasgow. This was the 3rd round for us but also the last as we never made it through to the next round, truth be told we were pleased not to go through as the next round was in Manchester and at this time all band mambers are a bit short of time and funds to trapse down there knowing fine well we wouldn't go through anyway. But best of Luck to Ayrshire band Magnus Blaze who did make it to the next round, Make us proud.
3rd A bit late in the day but again for anyone who doesn't know Middleman have been joined for almost a year now by Amsterdam Front man, Fraser McBride. We have been looking for a good lead guitarist for a long time and, although not a full time, perminent member, Fraser has fitted the bill perfectly. Lets hope he continues to help us out on stage and on the long awaited "demo".
Last but not least, After years and years and years we are putting together a "decent demo CD" Last November Kevin, Scott and Wesley (Fraser had to work) went to a recording studio/cottage in Cairndow. Over a long weekend we recorded the basic tracks for around 14 songs. Were now in the long prosses of overdubs, mixing and mastering the songs, we will then choose what we think are the best 10 and then when we have them all sorted out and sounding great it'll be time to get them duplicated by the hundreds, and then we have the prosses of a cd cover and art work and all the things to make it look amazing. Well as amazing as we think we can do it.
When this long awaited demo is ready, really ereally ready, we will have a launch for it and finally there people will be able to have a proper, worthwhile Middleman demo to sing along to......or a really hard worked on Coster!!!

Middleman are a 4-piece indie / rock/ pop band from Kilmarnock, Scotland that formed back in 2000. Theyhave become one of the stalwarts of the local music scene building up a fan base with their clever lyrics,subtle melodies and bounce around the room anthems. Their music combines varied genre styles that somefind difficult to categorise. When asked about this, Wesley replied “We have never tied ourselves to a certainstyle because we have so many influences”, …… “We also like to let the lyrics mean something and beclearly heard”Most recently Middleman have won The-Muzic.com Best Unsigned Song Completion 2007 with theirtrack “We Don't Wanna Go”.In 2006 Middleman were also nominated in the BT DMA Awards for the Best Unsigned Act.With a number of gigs performed over the last two years including being asked to support Dr Dot and herband “Bitchfest” in Berlin on November 9th 2006, and most recently playing an open-air gig at Kilmarnock'sDean Park Courtyard in early June 2007 to the delight of the audience.Their song "Bad Charlotte" (now a fan favourite) made the tabloids in The Daily Record of Scotland (articlebelow).When asked “What message would you like to portray to your fans with your music”, Wesley says “When Ilook at the songs we write I want to inspire others to be assertive and portray self-empowerment, so if youwant something, go get it and not be influenced by negatives saying that you can't achieve your goals. Thatbeing said, I would have to add that we're also about having a good time and not taking everything soserious - I like to make people laugh and be happy.”Middleman are aware of the challenges ahead and have come along way from winning The Rock Garden’sBattle of the Bands back in 2004. The band members are fully committed to their music and are presentlyfocusing of writing more material and expanding their ever-growing fan base.
