1 Corinthians 13:1-8a and 13
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails....And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.


Read the first paragraph....what does that tell you? If you dont have love, you are only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. You can have all the knowledge and faith that can move mountains, but not love, you are nothing. You can give all you have to the poor and surrender your body but IF YOU DO NOT HAVE LOVE....you gain nothing.

Love, we talk about it all the time. Especially high school students. "I love you baby" "i love you" All the time...but do we really know what love is? Dont get me wrong, some do...but its a shame how many people throw the word love around. Its a shame how many people dont realize what they get into when they take that step to say those three words. ITS A SHAME...how many people get their hearts broken by uttering those three words just one time.

Most of us dont know love...we dont know what it takes to love. What love means, what love holds and what love can lead to. We think we do but we are young and naiive and sometimes we just get so eager, we throw all our patience out the window and those three words slip out "i love you." Think back, if you can, to the first time your girlfriend or boyfriend told you that they loved you. Now, you may have been thinking the same thing but if you werent...it was a shock wasnt it? Made you think differently about the relationship didnt it? Yea, there's a reason for that.

See most of the time at the age we(speaking to you, my peers) are at, we dont fully understand the concept of TRUE love. Sure, friendly love is all around us and family love is abundant in most homes. But what about...real love? You hear it in songs, old and new. You hear it all the time and i guess because you hear it you think that telling your "significant other" that will make the relationship better...maybe for a period of time.

See what tends to happen is you say the word love so much and so often that it gets your mind into actually believing that you know what love is when in reality you dont. So when things get broken off...you sit there, wallowing in your own pit of sorrow wondering why it hurts so much. Wondering if life will go on and wondering if you'll ever meet anyone or if you'll ever love again.

Turn back in your Bible...as a matter of fact dont even turn back because if you know the Lord then you should already know that he died on the cross for US!! FOR OUR SINS, FOR THE MISTAKES WE MAKE ON A DAILY BASIS! Thats love...would you die just so your significant other can live freely? You may say yes, but put in that situation...you'd probably turn your back on the person you so called "love."

Im gonna go out on a limb and say that i know true love. I know what its like to have someone that you love almost die right before you and feel like you cant do anything about it, I know how it is to sit there praying for someone that you love not to leave this earth. Its scary...and something that most people my age cant say that they've experienced. Some can....most cant. Its not easy telling your "significant other" that you love them not knowing if that will be the last time. Its not easy thinking that you'll wake up tomorrow and they

I think Sarah is totally right; and as a true Republican from birth, I support this candidate and pray for the best! I may not be able to vote, but next time I will. Better to get into politics now, than later.

Well I know I can't vote but if I could I would've definately vote for Mccain bc I think that he would've been the better of the two to be our president.....first off I'm a christian and idc what Obama says its not right to kill babies and its not right to have same sex marriage! and the middle class is going to suffer bc of Obama...he wants to put more more taxes on us so that more poor ppl can get paid for doing nothing all day!! My dad says that the anti christ is going to rule for 7 years....and he said that Obama might be him...we never really know....he could finish this term...and not finish a second one...and yes I do agree that he did make a bad choice when he chose Sarah Palin as his VP but there is nothing we could've done about that....I don't necessarily like either of them...I just feel that Mccain would've been better for our country....I just wish that Condilisa (idk how to spell her name) Rice would've ran for president bc she definately would've won!!!!

Then all the ppl that wanted a black president would get what they want and all the ppl that wanted a woman president would get what they want....I'm not racist....thats not at all why I'm going for Mccain....I just think that he would've been a better president....and thats just my view on things....

Ok one thing, no matter who the president is...abortion will happen. No one can overturn the supreme court case Roe v. Wade...it just wont happen. So even if McCain did get elected then abortion still would have been going on. As far as same sex marriage, thats a reserved power. Meaning that it's left up to the states to decide whether or not to allow gay marriage. So again, another issue that McCain really wasnt in control of. And that middle class will prosper under Obama's leadership. Upper class would even further prosper under McCain's leadership because he's all about helping the big corporations. Meaning helping the people who are already making millions and hoping that helping them in turn will help middle class. Not such a good policy. And your dad has his opinion but i he cant sit here and tell me that Barack Obama is the anti Christ...what the hell kind of statement is that? You mentioned that you're a Christian, does me supporting Obama make me an atheist or something?

Dear God...

Its a few things i jus gotta talk about. First things first i wanna ask God to forgive me for my sins. I know ive sinned and i know i shouldnt have. I really do wish i could sit here with a bold face and say that i wont do it anymore but that would be yet another sin and i hate that its like that. But on the other hand im glad that you know im gonna sin and you plan on forgiving me for it even before i ask. I know im glad to have you watching over me each and every day Lord because without you i wouldnt be leading this life im leading now and i wouldnt be loving it as much as i am. Thank you for realizing my ignorance as a human and forgiving me for my sins wether they be intentional or wether they be done without even thinking.

I want to thank you for my family. My family has always been here and always will be here and i know that for a fact. Even tho we may not always be the picture perfect family we do try and we are only human so we will make mistakes but as children under your supervision i know that we'll learn from the mistakes that we do make and we'll try our hardest not to repeat them.

I want to thank you the REAL friends that youve shown me. A long time ago i really didnt know what a real friend was. It wasnt until i turned to you when i found out what real friends were like. It wasnt until i shed my first tear to them and they were there for me all the way through that i knew what a real friend was like. It wasnt until i made my confessions and made my attempts to right my wrongs and they were still there that i knew what a real friend was like. Now that i know wat a real friend is like...i can be one too. Not just to my friends but to everyone in need of one. I know how it feels not to have people beside you when you really need one...when youre going through some of the worst stuff that life can throw at you. I KNOW...so im gonna be that person thats there when someone needs me. Im gonna be that person that people can turn to for advice and im gonna be that shoulder that some need to cry on. Thank you for allowing me to be that.

I want to thank you for putting a very special person in my life. She knows who im talking about. Youve been that friend to me all this time. I never would have thought we'd end up where we are now but im glad were there. And as my heart skips while i sit here and contemplate all that weve been through on this short time i know that youre not one to let go. Im glad i have you and i love you more than you know. We share the deepest conversations and we always laugh together. You bring a smile to my face and you do it often. You make me complete and youre my "better half" Thank you for being in my life and i thank YOU LORD for puttin someone so amazing in my life...i know its probably hard giving up an angel.

Well...im sitting here with all these thoughts running through my head and yea they may be running me but with the help of you Lord and a few special people i think i can get thru it all. NA scratch that, i KNOW i can get through it all. I just had to give thanks where thanks were due and Lord your thanks were long overdue and im sorry that i took so long. Yet another one of my human imperfections. But know that im doin my best to make the right decisions in life and to act like a child of God instead of some otherworldly being. Im not perfect...we all know this, no one human person is perfect but i know im gonna try to make myself better. Thank you for listening Lord and to the people who read this...feel free to comment and now u get some insight on my life. Im lettin ya in jus a little bit cuz i guarantee you...its a lot more runnin through my mind than this but hey im still gonna be me so dont worry.
