- Me, Myself, and I
- I am happily married, a very proud dad, and a very BIG music lover.
I love all live music, some a bit too weird, some very normal, and some even 'poppy cr@p' as well.
I have played in many different bands over the years all very different, alternative country, rock, filthy rock, punky rock, mississippi blues rock, and authentic Samba music.
At the minute I am jamming and playing with The Scuffers & The Electric Hellhounds.
I should mention I am a drummer
- Music
- I love Blues, Country, Samba, Rock, Bluegrass, Rap, House, Old Skool early 90's rave....or any fussion between any of the before mentioned styles If anyone ever gets the chance try and watch MONOBLOCO, Samba band from the heart of Rio....mouth watering stuff
- Films
- Fear &; Loathing, Animal House, Blazing Saddles, Blues Brothers, Star Wars, Trainspotting
- Sports
- Football (Glasgow Celtic & Scotland), but basically I can watch all sports and have a fair grasp of most games
- Scared Of
- Losing too many friends
- Happiest When
- With friends and family, or playing drums

Whitburn Galaday Marquee - please pass this around
Well its official, The Big Bash is having a freebie for all you music lovers out there.
This Saturday (27th June) from 2-6pm there is a BRAND NEW MARQUEE with 4 great local bands playing for the masses @ Whitburn Galaday, on the show park of King George V.
The marquee has been acquired through local business donations that want to support what we are doing and help make Whitburn Galaday an even bigger and better event than it already is. Karma Golf, Nautica Clothing & Murphy's Transport are the contributors (so far, but the more the merrier if you, or you know someone that also wants to donate then get in touch) to pay for the marquee, that will be donated to the Galaday for use every year. In itself its costing more than £1000, and will be bigger in size than King Tuts in Glasgow.
We have also acquired one of the best P.A. systems & engineer, a stage, and four great bands, so please come along and enjoy what promises to be a cracking new adventure of OUTDOOR BIG BASH'S.
This years line up
2pm The Harringtons
3pm Lucid
4pm Selective Service
5pm Dead Sea Souls
Who knows, there may well be an even bigger outdoor adventure next year.........
Hope to see you there
Please do me a favour and pass this email around to anyone and everyone, if we can show this to be a success (and at no cost to the Galaday Committee) then there will be no reason why it doesn't happen EVERY YEAR. Can't do this without your participation people !!!0 Commentaren 168 dagen

URGENT !!!!!!!!!!!
Its been a while I know but some exciting news ahead, and I hope you can get involved.
This is to announce 2 gigs happening in the next 2 weekends within Whitburn, one is very much helping to ensure the second actually happens.
Let me explain, I have been trying to persuade Whitburn Gala Committee to have bands down the park on the Galaday afternoon so the last couple of years, and they finally relented this year to go ahead and do it. Great, but I also wanted to have a beer tent that would help subsidise all the costs on the day (P.A. hire, sound engineer, security etc...) that idea was warmly accepted by the Gala committee and was all going to happen with a bar in Falkirk going to supply staff and drink, however the Police scuppered that very quickly, even though we were going to have secuirty.
So, I could then get a stage from the council but being Whitburn Galaday I thought it may rain, so I have now been able to persuade some local businesses to help sponsor the event by paying for a brand new marquee that will be donated to the Gala for use EVERY year. Only need to cover the cost of the P.A. hire & sound engineer, which is why there is a gig this weekend in Whitburn Welfare that hopefully should be able to cover the rest fo the costs. This is where I need your help
I need as many as possible to come along this Saturday to help cover costs for this weekend and on the Galaday itself. Tickets for this weekends Big Bash are as cheap as they were 2 years ago to try and encourage as many as possible to come along. Come on for £5 you get to see this 5 great bands:-
Ewan Butler
Lucid - Fow, Lamie & Yeti playing their first gig under the new name
Pedantics
Selective Service
Dead Sea Souls
Get in touch for tickets.
Providing we get a cracking turnout, (to be honest sold just over 200 so far so its going to be another busy one) then on the Galaday itself there will be a marquee down the park (bottom park by the way) that will be absolutely FREE to everyone & anyone, with 4 acts on at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, & 5pm. Will all be finished by 6pm, so still plenty of time to party the rest of the night away wherever you want.
If you fancy this weekend - or just want to make a donation as every penny is going towards the Galaday event, and once costs covered going to the Gala for next year.
Get in touch for tickets, but they are going very fast. Sorry for the short notice but I've been off for a few weeks on paternity leave - now got 2 wee girls

Big Bash Announcement
First off the Bad news
Well due to some problems with the venue, we have took the decision to cancel all further Big Bash nights for the foreseeable future, until further notice. Things will change I am sure when the venue see what a good thing they are missing, but if not there are some VERY BIG plans afoot for some very interesting times to come.
Now the Good news
Well as the Big Bash was an ongoing successful project I was being asked to help with a few charidee gigs (put on your best Smashy or Nicey voice for that too work), but I always declined. However, with that on the back burner for the time being I had some spare time to organise a wee gig for our local Galaday in Whitburn. THIS GIG IS GOING TO HAPPEN ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON (strange times I know, but an unbelievable line up will no doubt bring all music lovers scrathching out their beds, and enjoy some quality tunes) 19th APRIL 2009.
The gig will run from 1.30-6pm and tickets £5, with all monies going straight to the Gala fund.
There will be 4 acts and a comedian / compere drumming up the crowds - and taking the p*ss as well.
As follows :
The Scuffers - The Scuffers take Honky Tonk Country as a base and create music which also draws upon influences from Rock n Roll, Skiffle, Folk and Gospel and mould it into their rural contemporary sound. Played every large venue in Central Scotland (Barrowlands, ABC, Renfrew Ferry, Oran Mor, King Tuts) and supported some main stream acts (Hayseed Dixie, Proud Mary, The Deadstring Brothers). Due to several babies arriving we only have a small acoustic set from the Glasgow based band (although percusssionist hails from Whitburn).
Selective Service - A brand new Glasgow based band who will be hitting the gigging circuit running. Having jammed religiously for over a year, they have now tweaked their own sound and come up with an interesting blend. Mixing Paul Weller, The Clash with a touch of dub / funk thown in. The drummer also hails from Whitburn (what is it with drummers fae Whitburn !!!! ten a penny)
The Destroyers - THE DESTROYERS are a 15 piece group based in Birmingham UK with a ranting punk poet as front man. This is Eastern European folk music with a gothic turbo charge, ignited by banks of brass, fiddles, accordions and drums. Glastonbury main stage veterans we were able to secure them to play on their way back to the land of the Brummie, through strong Whitburn connections with the singer.
Dead Sea Souls - "their ska flavoured funk would get the dead up to dance. They don't do poetry... or subtlety, but they sure know how to fill a dance floor" The Bluesbunny This a local band who are going places, they have steadily increased their local fanbase for 2 strong gigging years of learning their trade, with mainstream festivals starting to take notice with bookings for this year. These guys have played 3 times before in the last 18 months in this very venue, with December 08 being recorded as a love dvd. All local guys with a very strong Whitburn connection through the bass player, and most of their fanbase
Get in touch if you fancy a ticket, but I can tell you right now they only went on sale at the weekend and we only have just under 100 left. Well worth a fiver for a quality Sunday afternoon's entertainment and all for a very good cause.

I lead a pretty quite life too, have just started back work full time, so its strange getting used to being without the kids all day (good sometimes as well though) - I am working in Criminal Justice in the Probation Team, so am hoping to start a degree at the end of this year, or start of next, so that will keep be out of trouble!
Well, take care of yourself, and you can keep me updated on when the baby is born.
It was good hearing from you!
