- For my sins, I have been at QUB for SEVEN years. And no...I didnt keep failing...heehee. I received first class BA honours in 2005 and graduated top of my year in history and politics. Then I received a distinction in MA in Irish Women's History in 2006 (Sorry for going on a wee bit there...but I am so happy about it cuz I worked soooo hard). Always a glutton for punishment, I am in my final year of my DEL funded PhD. An amazing opportunity- travelling, exploring, organising seminars and conferences. But it is coming to an end now...what shall I do now? Questions questions questions...but I am trusting in the big man up in the sky...He has it all worked out!

I also take TRANSFORM on Sunday morning - it is all about exploring new horizons baby! I am also on the Board of Directors of GBNI (which is and sounds great but means lots of meetings). I am also on the National Youth Council. Last year, I was also elected to the European Executive Team which means weekend meetings in Luton every three months... - Eating dinner on a rooftop restaurant on the cliffs of beautiful Santorini watching the sunset... Watching the sunset in a beach bar in Mykonos (laughing at the man in the green shirt who was obviously being stood up, to this day me and my mum still ponder "is he still waiting?")... Eating lunch in the Topkapi palace in Istanbul overlooking the Bosphorous River where East meets West... Finally getting to see Carthage where the ancient book, Aenied is set... Being in Morrocco (sooo exotic)... Playing with barbary apes in Gibraltar... Soaking in the atmosphere of Renaissance Florence... Getting the outdoor train down to the Postumia Caves in Slovenia (Have you see the Descent or the Cave...scary)... Seeing the Miramir beach in Kefalonia... Helen Berhane
You might remember that asked I some you to help in the campaign to free Helen Berhane. Helen Berhane was among 2,000 detained members of banned evangelical churches in Eritrea (in Africa), including her own Rema church, which has been subjected to sustained persecution by the Eritrean government in the last four years.
She spent most of her detention in inhuman and degrading conditions inside a metal shipping container which was used as a prison cell. The authorities reportedly tortured her many times to make her recant her faith. In October 2006, she was admitted to hospital in Asmara as a result of new beatings. She was released in late October but is said to be confined to a wheelchair due to the injuries she sustained to her feet and legs. She refused to abandon her faith despite the threats and ill-treatment.
