Warlord Titan, 40k scale
They said I was mad...
A few months ago, me and a friend, Greg, were planning an apocalypse game for 40k during SABRE, St Andrews annual convention. I got my first look at the apocalypse rulebook and spotted the rules within for the Warlord Titan. Immediately inspired I began drawing scraps of plans on building this monstrosity, all the time having Greg getting on at me saying that it cannot be done.
A few weeks later I was still planning on constructing it so when I heard Greg was ordering polystyrene for scenery I got him to order a bit more. Eventually, about a month before SABRE I finally got the polystyrene I needed and set to work, all the while enduring comments about the impossibility of my task.
To my opponents dismay, there was a 3' tall killing machine looming over the battle. I had managed to create a free standing Warlord without a base. Unfortunately it wasn't anywhere near completed, but at least it had all the parts it needed and no one could mistake what it was. On a more depressing note, my side almost lost the game.
Now I hear everyone's taken up scratch building as a result. There are apparently fleets of Stompas, Thunderhawks and Drop Pods being made now for next year's game. However, Rory's pointed me to a datasheet for something even bigga...

SSBB vs ZP
The intertubes continue to astound me.
Recently, Zero Punctuation has done a review on Super Smash Brothers Brawl condemning it as a badly designed game. Now we have a whole host of rabid fanboys either repeating Yahtzee word for word or backing Nintendo with claims Yahtzee is biased against mainstream games/companies. I fail to see why a review from an internet celebrity could spark such hatred between these two sides. Although it's always the louder lot who get heard on forums it's disturbing to think that there are people who will go to such lengths to defend a company of all things. Likewise, all of those who would defend an internet celebrity's opinion. Would it hurt these people to actually have an opinion of their own?0 Kommentare 566 Tage

DnD- why Orkney is better then St Andrews
Over the past few weeks I have been running a game of DnD with some friends in St Andrews and the difference in playing styles is so drastic I have had to comment on it, for the reading pleasure of all you lot back home.
This party that I have got together are truly pants-on-head retarded. Put them in any situation and it will inevitably result in an argument as to how to go about the task followed by everyone acting on their own. A very good example presented itself in the first session. The party were standing in a room full of noncombatant goblins armed with harsh language. There was a door they hadn't gone through yet. The fighter decided to end the suffering of the goblin women and children with a dire flail. The paladin objected and tried to grapple her, failed and fell unconscious. The clerics in the group then also tried to restrain her eventually succeeding in KOing her at the loss of another cleric. Only after removing half the party do they proceed through the next door to find a goblin king with a mace grinning at how much easier his job had just become.
As characters got killed off by feuds and suicidal charges there emerged a pattern in new character choice. As it stands there are currently 6 divine spellcasters (1 paladin, 1 druid and 4 clerics) in a party of 7. They are literally compensating for a lack of cooperation and wits by having more cure spells per day just to keep them alive as they charge down corridors alone and unsupported. I have decided to let this setup continue and not interfere simply to see if they can work out the flaw in there tactics but im not getting my hopes up0 Kommentare 625 Tage

Raymond Mooney82 Wochen herI am creating a rule book for Battle Royale, as I plan to tweak it. My friend Alex and I were planning on running it as a nationals’ event as it would work well if we could get passed a few problems like bored players who died early on in the game.
One of the suggestions was to have the dead players join as soldiers sent in to speed up deaths or to patrol the death zones. -
Raymond Mooney84 Wochen herI did not see you at nationals
I am going to run Battle Royal at Hobbits (Paisley's Role Playing Society) but I was unsure on what rules you had made it in originally. Was it Inquisitor?
