Hello everybody!

Well it's been a busy couple of months, but a fun couple of months. Went to New York for awhile to write some and spend time with friends and my fella too. Played some shows, sang with Sufjan at his shows in New York, bought some new clothes, met some nice folks etc...

My documentary is out now and we've had 3 screenings so far. You can win a copy by becoming a friend (info below). Sufjan and Denny got to sing with me at the one in New York and Sheila was there too, of course. Also, got to fly to Austin TX to see my big screen acting debut in the movie Calvin Marshall, I felt like a real movie star even though I only had about 8 lines!

So what's next for Rosie? Recording a new record this month with Mr. Dave Bazan and Mr. Blake Wescott and my brother Brian Thomas and my fella Jeff Shoop and other talented friends. I think it's gonna knock your socks off and maybe even your shoes too.

After we finish the record, we'll be heading back out on the road for some very special Christmas shows on the west coast.

Recently, a documentary about Rosie called All The Way From Michigan Not Mars has been made by filmmaker Matt Boyd. It was released by FACTORY 25, the new Brooklyn-based independent film + music label. You can visit FACTORY 25 now to view trailers and clips from the movie and to get your copy of the DVD (with a limited edition LP)!

Rosie appears in the film Calvin Marshall, which had its premiere at the Austin Film Festival. The film is a comedy starring Steve Zahn, Alex Frost and Michelle Lombardo.

Synopsis:
Using intimate live performances with fellow songwriters Sufjan Stevens and Denison Witmer as a pathway, All the Way from Michigan Not Mars is a meditative exploration of Rosie Thomas’ work as it connects to her as a human being. Often raising more questions than answers, the film is a lyrical examination of Thomas’ quest for an expression of truth and her unique brand of performance; combining songs of plaintive melancholy with sharpwitted banter and Sheila, her bizarre stand-up comedian alter ego.

Hello everyone!

Chock full of eggnog and grand spirits, Rosie, alongside her husband Jeff Shoop and longtime producer Josh Myers, called upon friends (Damien Jurado), family (Rosie's brother Brian "BT" Thomas,) and alter egos (the simply hilarious Sheila Saputo) to capture all the warmth and exuberance of the holiday season for everyone to share.

A Very Rosie Christmas which is available on November 4th, is a collection of holiday favorites such as "Christmastime Is Here", "O Come Emmanuel", and "Winter Wonderland". Rosie has added the playful original "Why Can't It Be Christmastime All Year?" (you can hear this now on myspace,) and the Prairie Home Companion style radio sketch "Sheila's Christmas Miracle".

Rosie and her merry band of fellow friends and musicians will be heading out on her very first holiday tour starting in Philadelphia and ending in Seattle. See below for all the dates as well as a special note from Rosie...

Really looking forward to seeing you on my very first Christmas tour! I will be on the road with a full band including my brother Brian Thomas, Josh Myers, Andrew Rudd and my fella Jeffrey Shoop! My friend Sheila Saputo will be coming along too, opening the shows every night for us with her gift of Christmas cheer! It's always fun having the band along, especially my brother and Mr. Shoop. There's nothing better that I can think of than playing music with family, and friends of course too. See you soon!
