The Origins of the Four Symbols
“For the new album, however, Jimmy suggested that each of the members of the group chose a metaphysical symbol to put on the jacket. Most came from a book of runes that Jimmy showed them one afternoon. Robert selected a feather in a circle, the sign of peace. Bonzo settled upon a three-ring design, a sign of unity. (Later the band would joke that Bonzo’s sign bore a striking resemblance to the emblem for Ballantine beer.) John Paul’s symbol-three ovals that converge within a circle - represents competence and self-confidence. Jimmy designed his own symbol which seemed to spell the word “zoso”. He denied that it was a word at all and never told any of us what, if anything, it said or meant.
Fans began calling the album by a number of names – Four Symbols and Zoso were the most popular. But as far as the band was concerned, it was nameless.”

Work Blog!
I said that i wouldnt write 2 my blog again until i got my 1st paycheck, which i did 2day! Boom! 110 canadia dollars! im so happy caus i havnt go a penny (canadian or euro) to my name!
so this job neway. its a pretty sweet deal. im lik 1 of those demonstrators who like go into an offie and ask ppl if they would like to hav a sample of ________. it pays lik $13 an hour but its only part-time (10 hours a week) which isnt enough. but lets talk bout how i got the job....
i was searching lik mad on craigslist for a job. typical steve mahon thing, i didnt check my emails over a weekend and i missed 3 interviews for good jobs! so im emailing everybody on this job site. bout an hour after i finish on the net, i get this fone call askin if i can start tomorrow! im lik YES! but in my excitment i forget 2 ask which job it is. all i no is that this woman id s going to pick me up at 12 noon the next day and bring me to my job. now i applied for restraunt jobs, pub jobs, offie jobs and everything else. so im gettin worried.
the next morning and im wearin smart clothes (wit my converse) and im waiting for this woman to pick me up. im really nervous caus i dont no what im doin today! so eventually she turns up (45min late) and im trying to carefully pick my questions rite -> isnt vancouver a lovely city? what will i b doin today? who r u? who am i? etc.
I eventually suss out that im a tasting fuck who sucks up 2 customers and try make them buy a bottle of bla. easy. but every week im in a different offie and i have to make it there myself! hope i dont hav 2 travel to lik spain or something....0 Commentaren 883 dagen

beer blog baby!
its been a week since ive arrived. havnt done a thing! open a bank account. thats about it. done alot of drinking wit da lads! so i thought id make some notes of the differences between drinking here, and in ireland.
the first night we went out on the town it was weird cause we hadnt a clue where 2 go! theres no real kinda pub round. its all food n stuff. so we went 2 this bar downtown (not really an irish bar but it claimed to be). we were lik "2 pints of that and 1 pint of that!" with some beer. but u dont pay for it there and then. the bar guy was like "yea ill get that when ye finish!" and then after 3 pints tha bar guy came back and said "do ye want another drink caus if ye do ye'll have to order food." and he was dead serious! we were lik "fuck off!" and we went 2 another pub! but i ended up paying the round! 9 pints which came to $50 and the bar guy wanted a tip too!
now we just drink at home. were making a huge beer momument. so far its lik 72 cans but well get more. and we make alot of noise too! thank god the ppl living upstairs are deaf.
being drunk in public here is frowned at. u could even get arrested for it. weird. and u cant buy beer in a supermarket and anything lik that. u have to go to a licenced place. so buying beer is a treck across town (lik 7 blocks). its kinda crappin but weve had some rediculous drinking sessions!
