Aim for perfection
Traditionally, those who grew up in a religious environment tend to think of themselves as good people
Biblically speaking we all need grace. In other words, of the 6.85 billion people that live in our planet, every one in their life time will need to restore their relationship with God. By restoring I mean getting our relationships with God into the original intended state.
Everyone has fallen short of the mark of being good because if we compare ourselves with the standard that God has laid (the bible), we all need grace. The thing is, most people are conditioned to compare themselves with themselves or others. Huge mistake. Think about it.
The Scriptures have something to say about that.
We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.
2 Corinthians 10:12
When anyone studies and examines the life of Christ, the only conclusion they can arrive to is that Christ is the perfect example. Start comparing yourself with Christ and if you get it, youll be forced to grow in your humility. Jesus never sinned on the 33 years he walked amongst us. He is the target we should all aim towards.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2
For us disciples, we should never stop aiming for perfection as Paul said.
So lets be wise and stop comparing ourselves with others. Learn from Jesus how much we need him and draw closer to him by studying, not just merely reading the bible.

its hard
Up and down like a yoyo that seems to be me at the moment. After speaking to my counsellor today i told her about a certain situation that well i feel i never had any closure on because the other people didnt want to know. She asked me why is so uimportant to me what they think of me? All that matters is what God thinks of me. I know this is true and explained i dont what anyone to think bad of me in anyway. i want to be Christlike and show His character in my life, but at times i have elt Him down. I remember a song these people sung alot He made Himself of no reputation! Why does my reputation matter then to me?
No one like to think or anyone thinking bad of them or worse not liking them. I have to remind myself everyday, i held out the olive branch and they set fire to it! there really isnt anymore i can do as they are no prepared to listen so if there is something you have been trying to tell me and i havent been listening or God Forbid said i dont want to know anymore about your situation. I am really sorry.
I have been described as sad in someones blog and well to be honest after reading it ireally was said, so sad for them. Not one of us is better than another. If people really looked at the situations they are in before well lets say slandering someone, if they got of their high horse and noticed, they put themselves up there and not me, maybe they would be humble enough to apologize, not only to the Lord, but to the person they offended.
i really dont understand the term old friend anymore - i think it means someone i gave up on, cant be bothered with, is undeserving of my time. I have one true friend, The Lord Jesus Christ, everyone else, well they use me to get what they want out of me. He is my friend because He loves me.
Counselling is certainly bringing up alot of stuff to the surface that i havent thought about in a bit, but i'm saying God shine you light on my darkness, deal with it for i cant anymore.
if only all christians coudl be honest with each ohter instead of living in fear of being outcast if they say or do something wrong. the verese, confess your sins one to another - why? they woudl only shoot me down. but i do it none the less, the reason, He asked me to,He is praised when i confess my sins, He helps others in their situations through past situations in my life and well He helps me in my time of need.

An becuase its a recognised youth qualification the Civil Service actually give me 5 days paid time off to go and study, amazing!
