- 'The Book Thief'. 'A Short History of Everything' by Bill Bryson. 'Night's Dawn' Trilogy by Peter Hamilton. Anything by Dan Abnett (not a book, just anything he's written is worth a look). Anything by Stephen E Ambrose (Band of Brothers, D-Day, Normandy etc.).

RAG week Maynooth 08
I got a good deal this year.
Alabama three, Michael Winslow [sic], more booze than you can shake a bag of chips at, snd the time and money to participate in it all.
Alabama three, I'll admit that I didn't know what to expect, but now that I now what "sweet country acid-house music" is, I want more.
For those not in the know, think southern state electro-funk.
Winslow, as my bosses would put it, exceeded my needs and wants and expectations.
Mother.
of.
God.
The man is a genius.
All in all an experience worth remembering, tempered by the fact that it took till I'd left college to get the most from RAG week.1 commentaire 649 jours

Promotion
The corporate machine is making me it's bitch.
I was approached today to apply for two positions in a company i can't wait to leave.
The first was a move to a section involving less work that is harder. Seeing as what I'm doing is piss easy apart from the sheer mind numbing abundance of it, I see more challenge, with more free time as a plus.
The second was a step on the rung of the training department, which while not a permanent post - I'd be called on temporarily to coach employees when needed - still gets me away from the grindstone.
Neither of these involve pay rises, but I've said yes on the basis of the perks and the pressure of the split second decision alone.
I'm not going to make it out of here alive

) Not much news from me, just working all the time.
Yeah, it's been a busy few months here and I've had to cut off all the communications to get by. The beam finished last week and now we're in the middle of the review meeting (3 days of talks, yay
I'll be back in Ireland for some yet to be determined amount of time over the festivities, and I'll be certainly paying a visit to Maynooth, so let me know if there's going to be anything planned.
