Okay, so I've seen this done on a few pages and I think it adds a little more sense to the page. It gets to let you see a lil' into the background of who your RPing with, get to understand them a bit better so I'm gonna give it a go.. Heres a few notes about me OOC...

How did I get into rp?: I'll admit it it was my twin sis She somehow discovered the friggin' thing and I saw it I was against the whole thing to start with but one afternoon, like.. almost 3 years ago now, I was bored shitless and thought I would mess around on it.. See what the people were like on here.. And thus Eddie was conceived!

Why choose the character that you did?: At the time I was discovering the passion for comic books that I never knew I had, so I thought I'd maybe share it with everyone else, let people try something they maybe hadn't thought of before. I was kinda new to the comic scene at the time, but I had always loved Venom from the old Cartoon series.. He had so many sides that could be exploited and I could work with him. Sounds like I put alot of thought into him, but really it was a no brainer

Met any people OOC that you'd say are friends or close friends?: Definitely! I text a few of the girls that I've met over the years, Kara for one (I won't reveal her name ). I found out I roleplayed with someone from my own great city and we got talking, found out I had friends that she also had. I'd need to say that I am pretty close to Kitty(Again no names) though, or at least I hope she would agree... OOC especially. I've known her for a looooooooong time!

You read the title right, people are like sheep. It's a metaphorical phrase. One sheep sees another sheep doing something then copies it. The same applies to people and in this case roleplayers. Why am I writing this may you ask? As it's forcing all fucking originality out of roleplay. Bebo has fallen into a sickening roleplay trend that sadly, is showing no sign of letting up. Just now the whole internet, maybe even world has fallen head over heels in love with "Twilight", the vampire series about some chick and an ugly guy. This has now been reflected upon onto to bebo. Take a look around. Check your friends, or friends of friends and check how many "Cullens" there are, or how many vampires just happened to have appeared, that have no wishes to suck blood, or maim any human! Problem? Some people might not think so, it's still a person to roleplay with is it not? WRONG! It's a clone! 9 times outta' 10 they're gonna' hit out with the same crap; how pale they are, how they look so beautiful, how gentle and sombre their nature is and how they're looking for love! It might seem a bit harsh that I'm quelling somone's starter, or roleplay attempt but in truth, it's not theirs, is it?
 
Roleplay should be about taking a character, or creating your own, and building upon it, making your own mark on our made up little world of bebo. Too many people however, people have fallen into the trend of going with the flow and just copying everyone else, and as a result we end up with the same kinda starters from everyone, because these 'newbies' see this as the norm, and thus the death of creativity. And Twilight isn't the only scene I'm hitting on, nor am I condemning it; by all means roleplay the books, just try to be creative eh? The imagination can be wonderful!

It doesn't stop there either. I will guarantee that after the fad has faded, these people will leave, or worse, follow the next trend. It's easy to spot; X-men Origins: Wolverine is a good example. Think back to that time, May 2009. How many Wolverine, Gambits or Sabretooths sprung up? Now many remain? Not many I'm guessing. All either left, or moved onto the next trend . This brings up another major problem. Bebo is a social network right? We're here to socialise, and make friends. How can we make friends if people keep on deserting us? In roleplay it's all about the excitement and the love! Friends that we work with everyday bring that love! People always leaving, it's gonna' bring people down. All that effort with someone, for to have them leave or ignore you because you don't fit their new character isn't cool. Sad roleplayers leave, and a society with no people, or a demotivated population can only wither up and die. Simple.
 
And that is my point. With creativity dying on bebo, so slowly is the roleplay community. Where as as little as a year ago I roleplayed with a variety of people, now it's only a handful of 3 or 4, and I welcome more with open arms. With so little people to roleplay, I too feel myself losing the will to be here. I feel myself succumbing to the depression. I feel myself wanting to leave the community that for so long I have cherished... The solution is simple however. People need guidance. We need our "roleplay elders" to take the newer members under their wings, show them creativity and how to get along in their own respective universes and how to stand on their own two feet, instead of letting them fall by the roadside and getting picked up by the slow, destructive, bandwagon of mimicry...

Okay, so Bebo in my opinion is getting very stale at the minute. Same old scenarios, same old outcomes. Roleplays just aren't as.. spontaneous as they used to be. A few years ago, the Golden Age as I call it, not once where we limited to the boundaries of a modern, realistic world. We could go far beyond the boundaries of New York or Gotham. Heck, I've had roleplays set in Hell for Christ sake!

Having had experience in the field for several year' now, I think it's safe to say the the main contributing factors to the decline in roleplay over-all, is the lack of imagination in characters and the tighter restriction's people are putting on the needs to roleplay. Since when you could restrict people roleplaying?! Okay, so people text-talking is annoying, and ignoring them I do find just, but half the trouble seems to be too many people setting too high of standards. When I first started, a little description was needed in actions, separation from text and that was it. But now, your needing almost a paragraph. And it is with in this that the problem lies. The time taken to write and reply to paragraphs is long, and if that is with many roleplayer's not much can get done, thus scenario's spanning days and general lack of interest kicking in. Where as in the old days, things moved much quicker, because of shorter comebacks. Sure not as much detail might be given, but then a plus and my second point comes in; you had to imagine.

Yes, John Lennon "Imagine" alright song, wasn't too keen on his glasses however. Moving back to topic however, the little comments left more to imagine. You had to decipher your rp partner(s), you imagined your current situation, and acted upon it. Whether it was right or wrong, you had to adapt to it, and thus true, spontaneous event's occurred. Now a days, too much description is given so we are left with little left to imagine, we are force fed someone else's ideas and are more or less left to conform to his/her story. Call it the general evolution of roleplay, separating the men from the boys, I couldn't care less, but at the end of the day, is this not a democracy? We all have a right here, the micro-rpers and the well... Tolstoy's

Again I may have went a little far, as far as I'm aware bebo has no parliament, so no democracy, but I have made a valid point. I can't stop people restricting who they roleplay with, just plead you are a little more lenient with people, new comers in particular. I should also ask you try to think more outside of the box. It was more enjoyable to explore the depths of your imagination, than sit and type what you practically do on a day to day basis.

It is here that I impose that people start Reboots. Basically, take your character, break them down and build them up. Easier with Cannon (made up) characters than that set on a specified Universe (Marvel for example.) But for example, change your Bio; instead of copying and pasting one, read up on your character and write your own. Change skins, get a personalised one (See me if you want one, I'll personally make you one). In theory, a fresher page = a fresh mind. Fresh mind = All round, better roleplays. (=
