Its weird, you look at life and reaslise that it has its up & downs... then you lose someone you really love and your whole world never seems the same again. A week ago (Sept. 30th) I lost my sister Bev to cancer after almost a four year fight. Im very very proud of her for the fight that she put up over those four year, through all the chemo, the sickness & everything else that goes with cancer. She always tried to keep her spirits up & even made the hospital staff & the wonderful staff in St. Francis Hospice in Raheny laugh & smile.

Its weird, people say that life goes on, but it doesnt feel like that at all. Its like its stopped, stuck in a time of so much hurt that words cant even explain. I know Bev would not want me to be like this, but I dunno how Im supposed to cope & handle it all.

Youre probably thinking 'eh... why is she writing this up'?!!

I just wanted to thank everybody who has been there for me & my family, it especially counts when you need them most!

As alot of you might know, my sister Bev is in the final stages of aggressive of cancer. It wasnt until she was in hospital that I realised how important it is to donate blood and platelets. I hate needles but knew that giving blood was giving people like my sister some extra time to be with their family.

Its only half an hour out of your life to donate blood, but it means so much to the people who receive it and their families... Especially as it has given me and my family a bit more extra time to spend with Bev and has also helped Bev spend time with her husband and two young children.

Save a life and help people like my family have a bit more time with their loved one's by donating blood and platelets.

The wonderful staff in St. Francis Hospice in Raheny are taking care of my sister and I have to admit, that I think we would be lost without the fantastic care that they provide.
