so...don't really know why im doing this, maybe it's because nobody else is up, and the wimbledon final is on a rain break!

Anyway, so far....got to vancouver, got slightly thrown when the main road we needed to travel on from the airport was closed, but hey, got there in the end. Shattered, -9 hour time difference! stayed in the YWCA, thought we'd go budget as we had a 'treat' later on, but it was actually REALLY good! and it was situated by a massive american football stadium. got bikes and cycled round a lot of 'downtown' as they call it one day! second day we went to granville island, which was a bit wierd really. Shopping later on but there were too many shops! Although on the way out of the centre we saw loads of trucks parked down the street and got talkiing to one of the men, and they were from paramount pictures, who were filming a show called 'samurai girl' which will be shown on abc 1 apparently! he showed us the special effects truck - was so cool!

Spent most of Canada Day, a massive celebration of their independance, in Vancouver as well. It was absolutely crazy. Here's an image for you.....take a poodle, half it in size and make it look even more ridiculous. Now put a canada flag dog body suit thing on it. Then put a canada dog cap on it. Then put canada socks on it. There, its ridiculous! But a cool day all the same!

Then we left Vancouver to go to Galliano Island which was well, one extreme to the other! It's a gulf island, in between the mainland and vancouver island. Really really pretty place, but well, it was tiny and there was hardly anything there. After the hustle and bustle of the big city it took a while to adjust to, but in the end you just have to appreciate the sheer beauty of the place. Over the three days we went on a few walks and did some kayaking we saw killer whales, bald eagles, snakes, racoons, minks, otters...... we stayed at a place called bodega ridge in a log cabin, which was quite fun. The guy who owns it is an ex canadian cycling champion, which was cool! I got a shot of his mountain bikes

And now i am on vancouver island for the largest part of the island on a place called tofino, on the west coast. I haven't seen a lot of the place yet as we only arrived last night, but everyone i have spoken to in vancouver/galliano says its just an amazing place! What i saw yesterday certainly looked good! There's meant to be good surfing so hopefully hit the waves at some point! However, dad splashed out on this one and we're renting out he most magnificent house i have ever stayed in! It is just amazing, the kitchen is huge so im looking forward to making the most of that a TV which is easily double the size of what we have at home, heated floors, outside hot tub, private beach.....It's hard to put it into words! cool!

half way through...the next holiday will have a lot to live up to.....
