- He was born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, on the 27th June 1980, and made his first class cricket Debut for Natal's B team in 97/98. After two seasons with them, he moved to england and played for Cannock cc. Then in 2001, he joined nottinghamshire, and stayed with them for a few seasons. In 03/04 he was selected to tour india for the ODI series, which was a very succesful tour for him. Prior to the tour in Zimbabwe, Pietersen moved from nottinghamshire to hampshire, under the captaincy of Shane warne.He made his England debut in 04/05, touring South Africa and Zimbabwe.
He played in three of four one day games, averaging 40 for them. Then, in '05, Pietersen made his full england debut playing for the team in the first test of the ashes. He had an extremely impressive series, making his maiden test 100. Pietersen is a creative and inspirational cricketer, and having only just started his long Career, there is alot more to come from this amazing player.
