A night of velvet
Went through to Glasgow last night to see the wonders of Velvet Revolver I had seen Slash and co at the SECC last june but this time it was Carling Academy time - much better venue!! Except i made the stoopid mistake of driving.idiot. Somehow managed for once NOT to get lost but it took a looooong time.
Arrived in the venue with Dom halfway through the support acts set....didnt get their name but they were class!! i shud find that out.hmm
VR took ages to come on stage but when they did, they did it in style! Lights went out, the stage was pumped with dry ice and a really cool hip hop dancy kinda choon was blasting throught the PA...then all i could see was the sillhouette of a tophat walking across the stage! Next thing, Duff jumps up to the front of the stage with the spotlight on him and then slash.....still to the hip hop tunes. wierd. This went on for a good few minutes as they just stood on stage lapping it up until they eventually broke into "Let It Roll". Scott came on stage last and was on top form. He is an incredible frontman, but his vocals could have been louder at times. A few songs in and Scott starts talking to the crowd between songs, but he sounded completely different to last year, he was just blabbing away really and came across quite strange. I had heard that he was back in rehab recently and he made it pretty clear that he is in a mess.
The interaction between Slash, Duff, Kush, and Matt was awesome again but while Scott interacted with the crowd, there didnt seem to be much between him and his bandmates. When the played "Patience" by GnR, he just sat at the back of the stage.
Probably the only one of Scotts rants that was audible was the one that i wish i never heard:
"This is a very special occasion, this is a very special occasion. You know why? Cos this is the last ever Velver Revolver tour"... WHAT THE FUCK!??
He didnt seem to give a shit.fanny. At the end of the gig he just walked off stage while the other guys took their time leaving, making it clear that they actually appreciated the crowd. Slash, in particular was on top form.
I hope that this isnt the end for them. They are one of, if not the best live band i have ever seen and they totally have what it takes to be huge!! But then again, if Scotts gonna kill himself with Heroin then maybe its not what he needs.
I wish him all the best with his recovery....but for fuck sake dude, dont kill Velvet Revolver just so u can go fuck yourself up in a bathroom somewhere.

Where are all the pancakes?
Not much of a blogger but yesterday was too funny not to be documented...and at my rate it'll all be forgotten by friday so better get it down now.
Picture the scene.......
Morning of pancake tuesday, didnt have uni till the afternoon so i arsed about at home and pretended to read and watched an audioslave dvd...then gave up on reading and just danced around.awesome. So after working up a bit of a sweat i went to my lecture, and it was actually good.wierd.
Home at 5.10, playing a gig at henrys cellar bar and soundcheck is between 4 and half 5. Mikes in portobello (poor mike), johns still at uni (shit, but better than portobello) and im at home, its not looking good. Had to get a taxi into town to get there on time, there are no fucking taxis during the day so i got soaked. Got in the taxi and realised that i dont think iv ever been in a taxi sober before. driver was a legend, kept playing me this shit country music and after ever song he'd look at me through his rear view mirror and smile....very strange man but i gave him a tip so he wouldnt rape me.
Into henrys, a total shambles as usual.no soundcheck and we're not playing for another 4 hours. Went on a pancake hunt with crusher, but to no avail. What kind of city doesnt sell pancakes on pancake tuesday?!idiots. We even asked jesus but he didnt know. Settled for a dodgy pizza cos i figured i could toss it like a pancake.bad idea.
We then realised that we didnt have a clue what to play so we went into the cellar of E mondo, and had a jam and probably contracted many diseases. Asbestos is good for u yeh? Scary as hell place, which apparently used to be a morgue. Needless to say that did not ease any fears. Not helped when all the lights went off. So by this time drinks had been begotten and so we headed through to henrys.
Mike and me have created an adventure club, which had an amazing name that iv forgotten. Also, contemplated the idea of sex-skiing as a possible olympic event. A few logistical issues to sort out but it has potential. Im shit at both so il just watch
Lesson for today, drunk John with a microphone is not safe. Dedicating a song to AIDS, a real "what the fuck" moment. good effort saaan
Left henrys after downing a good few pints and handed flyers to ppl. John showed a true talent. Walking up to oddfellows to meet kim and we heard a random chant from a window so we chanted back. Looked up and the chant was coming from a bunch of girls in a flat.. 2 minutes later we're in the flat, drinking their booze. And they were all hot. We departed with the girls to stereo and after that, well it all gets a bit hazy.
Fucking awesome day, but no pancakes. I was on the wards this morning with a raging hangover and stinking of all sorts of booze after my dirty pint concoctions. It actually made it so much better, and just numbed me to all the dr bullshit. A potentially worrying discovery.
Heres to those girls and their booze. Did anyone get their names btw?

Last weeks of summer
After some steady calculations i have come to the conclusion that i have been drunk about 80% of the time since summer began for me in may.bit worrying. But a fuckin awesome summer!
Iv been working in a friends guest house since the beginning of august, seemed a good idea at the time but mon-fri in there then sat and sun in jenners is a cunt.makes you forget what sleep is like. Its the best job in the world tho, go in, get a coffe, bacon roll, speak to people, drink more coffee n go home with cash in my pocket Mondays and thursdays were always interesting...due to cav and liquid room carnage the night before.vodka.nice
Basically for the past month iv been getting home at 5ish then up at half 7 for work. Driving to work a fair bit which again, is fairly worrying.thank god for sunglasses, the make me feel invincible.
Are bulldozers back yet?
Cav is like a girlfirend to me now, it only speaks to me once a week and always makes me feel sick. Also, nah...lets not go there
God spoke to us a few weeks ago after cav when me n seamus and the balerno boys got naked to jump in the canal.Thanks god.

New York was amzing!! wasnt really ready to leave but now im here its all good. . . got a job the day i arrived and the people are pretty awsome in the hostel so dont have much to complain about to be honest.
