jape to close
Closing the festival in a beautifully melodic, gloriously warped and magnificently hummable fashion will be the spectacular Jape. Jape was a well-respected Irish secret before Jack White and Brendan Benson started covering his "Floating" song every night on their Raconteurs tour. With the brand new "Jape Is Grape" EP out on V2 in November and his 3rd album ready to drop soon after the future is bright, and the future could well be Jape!0 commenti 810 giorni

Friday 28th / Saturday 29th / Sunday 30th September
The Pod Complex, Harcourt Street, Dublin 2
Back with a bang Hard Working Class Heroes in association with Bud Rising will be celebrating its 5th Birthday with what promises to be its best festival yet in an action-packed festival over 3 days in the Pod Complex on 28/29/30 September 2007.
"We receive great feedback from bands and fans every year," enthuses Hard Working Class Heroes founder Brian Carroll. "And every year that inspires us to try and make the next year's event even better. This year we've moved the event to the Pod Complex in an effort to engender a real sense of community and shared experience amongst performers and audience alike." Owing to the set-up of the Pod Complex the event will be under one roof and will offer the same number of self-contained venues and the same capacity as in previous years but without the travel time between locations!
The festival promises a spectacular collection of close on 100 Irish music acts over the 3 days as well as an international photography exhibition in a dedicated space, 'speed-dating' mentor sessions with seasoned industry professionals, and a 'Scandinavian invasion' that will see the best emerging music from that part of the world champing at the bit to compete with the Irish contingent.
The final complement of bands has been chosen by a panel of international media and industry judges who will be aiming to ensure that only the finest acts will be treading the boards at the festival. The organizers are confident that the wealth of talent currently occupying the length and breadth of the country will see the number of applicants this year break the current record: "Every year we're reminded of how many good bands and musicians there are waiting to be discovered in Ireland," comments Angela Dorgan (co-organiser and head of FMC).
Ever-ready to embrace and disseminate new technology HWCH have also ensured that this year each successful artist will also be entitled to a free 'TV channel' courtesy of Muzu, the online music TV platform. HWCH will also have it's own tv channel on MUZU.TV
The festival website (www.hwch.net) is now live and will provide constant updates on the festival as it unfolds in the lead up to 28 September . It will also provide instant access to MP3s from all the acts who win a slot at the festival, encouraging bands and fans alike to immerse themselves fully in the range of music that will be on show.
Hard Working Class Heroes are delighted to have the support of BudRising for the event. After a successful partnership in 2006, BudRising is delighted to once again be associated with Hard Working Class Heroes. For the past four years, BudRising has made a point of supporting emerging and established Irish talent the continuing association with HWCH reinforces that commitment to helping new acts.
The Hard Working Class Heroes festival has become the Irish independent music industry's most telling barometer. It is a perfect opportunity to spot emerging acts as well as a chance to see more established artists perform in full festival spirit without having to buy a tent. HWCH is Ireland's only festival dedicated to Irish bands. Once again music industry figures from around the world will be invited to attend and get involved in the festival and to experience firsthand the breadth of talent in Ireland.
There are plenty of other treats and surprises in store so be sure to keep an eye on www.hwch.net0 commenti 810 giorni

What Skins Character Are You?

Chris
Chris is a little unlucky. he often dosen't see things infront of him... and sometimes loses everything he has. He uses parties, drugs and drink and often sex to calm him down. He is very interlectually clever and is very young maturity wise. He is the joker and a party animal. Often stripping, getting drunk and having sex with anyone and everyone... even teachers.
