There isn't much to say: I was born and raised near Milan (in the north of Italy) and when I was fourteen I moved to Pisa where I've been living since today. I work in a very small company providing training on computer technologies (I'm the secretary). I'm a shy and reserved person, but I have several interests (and few close friends). I love writing and reading, travelling and get to know other cultures, I like foreing languages, music and movies.

  • My friend's Visit

    Hello girls,
    I’m back to work after few days off :( and I’m already tired of it! It’s extremely hot in here (and outside too, as for that!!) and everybody seems to be nervous here I’m trying to stay silent and unnoticed in my place :O :O I miss my little unplanned holiday already!! :(
    As announced, my friend living in London came to visit me on Wednesday afternoon and left on Friday. So it was only 2 days on the whole (too few!!:( ), but intense! It was great seeing her again after so many years! We first met in January 2001 when I spent the best of times in London by her for some 10 days and then again, briefly for few hours in summer 2003 while I was in London again with some friends. On the whole we’ve been pen-pals for almost 18 years now and it’s amazing how our friendship could stand through time and distance and life changes! :o
    I loved chatting with her all the time and showing her around a bit. Unfortunately there wasn’t much time to take her everywhere and we had to choose. So we mostly stayed in town and I took her to see the beach in Viareggio, as her chances to see the sea aren’t many in England.
    We visited the Leaning Tower's Square of course, a bit of the town's old centre, the botanical garden and she did a lot of "tourist shopping" ;)
    She enjoyed everything I think and we had some good time together. :) My mom liked her too, in spite of her worries for the language (but she managed to talk to her all the time just the same, no matter whether she could understand or not!!! :D :O ).
    It was sad seeing her leave so soon on Friday. Airports can be nice places when you’re leaving or waiting for someone (so exciting to stand at the gate waiting to see the expected face to appear among the many passengers!), but it’s so sad to say good bye and see the friend leaving, not knowing when you’ll ever be able to meet again!! :( But I know we will, as we were able to do during all this time.
    The weekend was but so lonely, after having had her around for 2 days, and all sort of things I would have liked to tell her kept coming to my mind all the time! But that’s life: you cannot have all the people you love with you all the time, unfortunately! But I do treasure this experience and am grateful for it.
    The only bad side in it was the hot weather! We’re over 30°C as in July and it made sightseeing and walking around particularly tiring (for me at least, not so much for my friend who’s of African origin and quite misses the sun in grey England!!)
    My birthday was a quiet day: I got some phone calls as usual, but did nothing special. Not that I love birthdays, anyway, not since I turned 30!!! ;) And anyway, my friend’s visit was the best gift I could expect for my birthday this year, I think! Besides, this week is also a sad one because of my dad’s death anniversary and so I was particularly glad to have visitors to divert my mind from it.
    Now I’m back to routine and depressing reality and boring work :(

  • Spring is in the air

    Finally the weather improved and on Sunday I could make it to go for a walk in the town centre, bringing my camera with me to take some shots around the town. :)
    As soon as the sun came out, people reappeared in groups every where, in the early afternoon. I was surprised to meet so many, in the squares, queuing at the ice-cream shop or sitting along the riversides or in the park. Generally Pisa people hardly go out on Sunday afternoons before 5 (I always wondered why!) even in winter as they tend to dine late and then linger home doing God knows what; while I always prefer to go out early…
    Anyway, you could really feel spring coming!
    In the park there were huge groups of people, especially immigrants on their free day, mostly eastern European/Russian women who work in families as caretakers for the elderly and Philippinos families with children all having picnic and playing. There was ethnic music coming out of small radios here and there, people chatting, but on the whole it all looked quiet, as everybody was enjoying the bit of sun. Tourists in the Tower’s square had already taken off their jackets, although I found it a bit early for that.
    Anyway I walk a good while (my poor feet!!) and took some photos of some squares and alleys along the riversides and of the riversides themselves I am going to post soon in the coming days. Today I’m beginning with the Scotto Garden.
    There are other parts of town I’d like to show to you, so hopefully I’m going to take further photos in the near future.
    I hope you’re going to enjoy seeing them.

  • I'm not "supporting" Facebook!!

    As you may know i don't like Facebook at all and deactivated my account as i never used it.
    It seems but that the site is like haunting me through and through! :O
    Recently at work i keep receiving calls from Facebook members looking for technical support on how to access the site! :o Apparently the national phone company is giving my company's phone number by mistake to the people who call them and ask them for the Facebook support free number! :) The fact is that the name of company where i work is "Book ltd" and i guess the operator who search for "face BOOK" gets our number for result.
    Well, somehow it's a step forward because so far i used to get calls from people looking for a bookshop!! :D
    Anyway, the call goes like that: i pick up the phone and say "Hello" and on the other side of the line i hear an anxious "Sorry i can't access my facebbo account, what should i do??"
    "and you're asking me, what the hell i know?" :D :D .... welll, my reply is a bit politer, but that's the sense...;)
    Now i'll have to figure a way to contact the stupid phone company and inform them that we're not "Facebook", but simply a company providing training!

      Well, believe it or not, my mailbox is still empty...now, the count goes for MONTHS not weeks anymore. I am getting desperate :( !
      I just came back from two-hours driving at night listening to Beatles!!!! :o Yeah...I am depressed still...(I almost said, again., but it wouldnt make sense anymore),,, Driving relaxes me though...
      Thanksgiving is coming up and several days off...I feel no joy in this holiday anymore:( ,,,
      But I am always thinking about you!! Even when I am feeling this way...Hope you are much better than me! All my love to you always , Nadia

      Wow. +28 degrees seems so crazy to me.. agree, this will cause even more health probelms... but well there is anthing we can do about the weather at teh moment. Here today it is not that warm like it was the other days, I suppose that it will chill down over the night...
      We are going to a spa hotel on Wednesday because Rudi has got an event there, he is going to inform some physicians about special topics and Ralf and I can relax in the pool. :) Yes he is treating us well these days. He tries still to distract me a bit and it slowly works. :)
      We are flying to Hamburg in the middle of December so if you would like to get something let me know. ;)

      the same here, it is nearly almost like spring. ;) haha. :) I do like it, but of course it won't stay like this long anymore and people will go crazy if it is going to turn cold again. :( We already have had zero degrees here and under zero as well.
      +26 degrees is crazy what? For November?
      yes there is anything we can do about it, getting flu is something normal in this kind of period but I hope we can resist more haha. ;) At least we won't give up. :)
      you too have a good time this week. Next week we are going to another spa hotel and I look forward to it. We are out for so many trips until the end of the year... so I started bakign already. :) LOL

      Today I have been so shocked at work. Brian our manager is leaving in less than a year!!! I am speechless and many simply had tears in their eyes. Of course, I understand among idiots and fakeness he is a stranger :( But I will miss him. Now I am worried who is going to be next, surely it cannot be better! But only worst :(
      I am also glad you are feeling better! I can never let go of my desire for a puppy:( , I know I am killing myself, but I cannot be otherwise.

      come stai ocho? Yes my boys did love the trip to the museum of traffic history a lot. :) It was even interesting with me, i loved the old slides adn toys a lot. :) They were so nice. :)
      I was happy that I could make photos, because it is normally not permitted. We are ok here so far, despite of the still blocked noses and such stuff. But since nearly everybody is sick here around... we do have a swine flu wave here as well. :( Yuck.
      Weather is ncie here today, the sun shines brightly. :) I love it. :)
      Glad that you are doing better so far and your cough is nearly vanished. :) Just hope you are not going to get anything else. :)

      Hello, my dearest Sonia! I am glad you got it, and of course, it goes without saying, that I already miss yours . I feel totally empty :( I just talked to my brother and he too yelled that I am crazy for wanting a puppy, when I have a child. It seems nobody really cannot understand me! But, I keep on writing letters these days...Not many, but at least few... I am trying to make my mind forget!
      How are you feeling? Daniel is feeling much better, thanks for your concern. He is returning to his daycare tomorrow, if everything goes well. Hope your cold is gone as well. I am with a cold myself, but I keep on drinking Vitam. C. It is not that bad. Sending you much love! Thank you for your care!

Mine was terrible, actually....We spent all 2 days getting on each others' nerves :( I even heard so many insults again, and it was all in front of Daniel!!!       How are you??I hope you had a nice weekend!As for me,I attended an event at Aoi's school last Saturday and on Sunday we did some shopping..very relaxing weekend!

      It is Kotaro's 5th birthday today and my family and I are going to celebtate his b-day this evening.:) As you already know I didn't invite anyone...it is a small family party.:)

      I am so sorry for me delay of letters!:( I really hope I can find some time to sit and write letters..please be patient with me!

      It was my parents' 39th wedding anniversary yesterday and I called them.:) I can't believe they have been married almost for 40 years!!:O

      Hi, darling! Thanks for the comment! I am about to leave now to Downtown for an appointment regarding daycare expenses. I am soooo nervous, that I am shaking :( Maybe I suffer from panic attack for any changes :O !? Anyway, Yes, the book (second novel) affected me so much, I felt totally sad..I still keep having questions in my mind, why didnt Mariam leave..Plus the movie...It made me all depressed!       Thanks a lot for your concern,I feel much better now and I am not depressed anymore.;) Kosei was transferred to other department which is a very good place for his career,so I am so happy for him.:)

      I guess Ryuichi Sakamoto is still in Italy!:) He is going to have his concert in Milano this Thursday.:) I know he loves Italy so much,no wonder why he stays there for nearly 2 weeks!!:))

      Thank you so much for cheering me up,I am still so disappointed but I am trying not to get depressed too much..maybe we will have a chance another time...:) Kosei was so sorry for me about canceling the trip and he told me that we might be going on weekend trip to Kyoto if possible.:) Yes,I really have to be patient..wish me luck!!

      I am so upset,Kosei just called me to cancel our trip to Beijing and I did it..:( He asked his boss if he would be transferred this Friday and his boss told him that it would be better for him to cancel the trip.:( We wasted nearly $300 to cancel our trip!:( It sucks!

      You are so right,big company doesn't care their employees' situation.:( Kosei's ex colluegue was transferred to Chicago branch and his wife was pregnant that time,he had to move in Chicago alone without his family.:(

      I will talk to you more again tomorrow,I promise!;)

      How are you today?Kosei is told that he will not have to move from Tokyo,so we will be able to stay here for a while and we don't have to move right away...but moving can be a big headache to me.:(

      No,he doesn't have any fear about moving as he already knew he would have to be transferred very often once he started to work.Usually he is transferred every 3 or 4 year and it is time!I will try to look at the bright side and not to worry too much!;)

      Kosei had been so nervous these days as he is still not sure where he will work the next.:( And we will have to think where to live-we really need a bigger apartment as our kids are getting bigger.So we are thinking of buying an apartment or house finally...I am already used to live in my area,but I know I will have to find a better area for my children's education.It is always hard to face the changes in my life!

      Il micio tornerà a casa stasera, finalmente... E' stato operato sabato mattina e la vet. ha preferito tenerlo "dopato" (parole sue :L ) durante il weekend! Ne avrà per 40 giorni, ma il peggio è passato :)
      La settimana qua comincia bene:Marco è malaticcio e preferisco tenerlo a casa... ma quando passa la stagione fredda? :L

      But you know Ralf was a bit scared by the huge dinosaurs at all. ;) I did tell him that they are already dead and they were only dangerous millions of years ago but it was so gloomy in there because otherwise the bones will get damaged and he was telling me that he doesnt like the darkness at all too. Other kids (older ones) did find it pretty cool and me as well. Afterwards he was proud of himself that he managed it well. Unfortunately we werent allowed to take any pictures...
      Oh you have rain as well. the same here... have a wonderful weekend. Love Angie
