That and I hate what alcoholism and addiction can do to people. I've seen addiction make respectable people do some very unrespectable things, that, sober, they would find disgusting. I don't envy anyone's battle with addiction. It's an awful thing to have to go through. But addicts that give up the fight? Well...I dunno...

Obama swept the Potomac. For that matter, he's swept the last eight states and has finally moved ahead in the committed delegates count. Clinton's top two aides quit in the last two days! Not that I wish bad for her, I really don't -- but I so strongly believe Barack Obama is the best human being for the job. On to Wisconsin and Hawaii, then to Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania! She's got a long road ahead of her but if her satallite performance this evening is any indication, Amy Winehouse has decided to fight her demons. You go grrrl!
Many artists expressed support for her, such as Grammy-winner Chaka Khan, who admitted having her own problems in the spotlight during her long career.
"She's walking her walk. We all have a walk in life, we have hard and difficult times and going through that chaos often leads to clarity," Khan said. "We have to have that room and that space, that privacy time, to be able to walk your walk, make your mistakes and come out of it. It will make you stronger."

Feeling ill today but I'll spare you the details.
I have a date with a cool film student this weekend...he has long shaggy hair and a gothy streak :-P
Snowday! Second time in the last week we got out of work early from the snow lol All my years in school we've never had a snow day! NOW we have snowdays! Don't know why the heat's not on -- I'm shivering prolly cos I'm having sick issues but I have on a blanket and it's fucking cold! Ah there it's clanking now.
So hillary is still ahead by the hundred delegates she was before yesterday. There are three more caucuses coming up this month though and Barack does really well in Caucuses. Also there is Louisiana, which isn't a whole lot of delegates, especially since there are about a million fewer people since Katrina happened, but there is a large black population which will be helpful. Also, John Edwards, who dropped out of the race (He was Kerry's running mate in 2004), has been a champion for the people of New Orleans and the embarassing neglect of what's happened to them by FEMA and the Bush Administration. His immense popularity in Louisiana and the 40 or so delegates he won before dropping out of the race (he can direct them to support either of the remaining candidates) would make an Obama endorsement a fucking awesome thing! He seems reluctant to endorse anyone but in the debates, he seemed to ally with Obama. His message was a populous message against the establishment and the Clinton Machine. That reminds me I should check out what people are saying at his website. I really hope for the sake of my country and for the rest of the world we get his endorsement. I think it could really push us over the edge.
I'll segue here and say that the Katrina-related problems are not all the fault of the Bushies -- but fuck me, the laws could have been amended and the levee system improved. Basically, for the last 40 years, the Army Corps of Engineers has been saying the levee system would fail in a Category 3 or higher hurricane but no administration would allocate the funding needed to help a rather poor state to make the preventive improvements needed. Lake Ponchetrain (check out my vids for the awesome Ludo song by that name) getting filled by a re-routed branch of the Mississippi river is a whole different problem. Not only did messing with nature flood a city, it's on it's way to destroying an entire ecosystem and it is not beneficial to the economy it was supposed to help stimulate. So the storm hits, floods the city and the population decreases by half. Those that decided to stay are, for the most part, three years later, still living in FEMA trailers placed on their front lawns in front of their uninhabitable homes. Most of these homes were built too low to the ground and if elevated properly on their foundations, might withstand another storm like Katrina, being elevated enough for minimal flooding. Unfortunately the law that provides for FEMA only allows victims of a disaster to get financial relief enough to build what they had, not improve it. If they want to improve it, they don't get the money, so these people have to come up with the money themselves. They want to rebuild but not by recreating one of the problems that left them with a destroyed home. So they live in trailers.0 commenti 665 giorni

My classmate is from Latvia, and has been in Ireland for about seven years. The only issue she might have is a conviction for driving without insurance. I just told her to read the recruitment advice booklets and take it from there. You see, the authorities are eager to recruit from ethnic and other minorities, to reflect the changing make-up of Irish society.
Never been shooting, it's not really done much over here, but I reckon I might like to try it sometime - I kick ass at computer target practice and those fairground stalls, so I'd like to see how I'd handle a real 'piece'.
I've been meaning to do that course for years, even as an evening course, but the opportunity arose to do it full-time for six months, so I took it.
I don't know if the private ambulance companies here are 'corrupt' per se, but I've met some fairly dodgy characters in that business.
