not pals as such, but I'm-a getting there. It helps that the majority of the japanese class are anime nerds like myself so we have stuff to talk about. And obviously I can talk about fancy literature-related stuff in English and about film in film studies. As for sociology and linguistics, well I don't really talk in those classes because I'm usually trying to figure out what the hell is going on

you trusted your instincts with Death Proof, I admire that. I must've watched 20 minutes of it, perhaps less, before turning it off in disgrace. But Inglourious Basterds fantastic. The fact that it's a Tarantino film that features a David Bowie song, well, it just felt as though it were made specially for me.

Of course I have! It's AMAZING!! I was worried there for a while after the abomination that was Death Proof, but Tarantino showed that he's still got it

I'm taking english, film studies, linguistics and sociology. I'm also taking Japanese as an elective

The second day isn't quite a catastrophe, but by George is it close.
I ought to point out that NO ONE from my year went to UCD so I'm on my own in a course of 500 people, none of whom I know. Very daunting.
So I'm just spending the day searching for all the freebies I can find and killing time watching youtube videos til my next lecture-thing starts. A sign of things to come, perhaps?

yeah I realized today that I've a long way to go to achieve the douchey college kid look. The first day went pretty well despite the fact that my family refused to stay in the parent creche and followed me everywhere. Oh well. I can get by without friends for 3 years...
