Tributes paid to boy loved by all

TRIBUTES have poured in for popular teenager Brendan Lynch, who died while riding his motor scooter.

The 17-year-old lived in Swans Close, Ramsbury, with his mother Yasmin Richards and step-dad Jeremy Williams.

Every day this week after school, groups of his young friends have been visiting his home to provide solace and support for his mother.

Mrs Richards told the Gazette that the visits by Brendan's friends were helping her through the early days of hearbreak.

His mum said the tragedy was all the worse because Brendan was her only child.

Mrs Richards said: "He was the sort of boy that everybody loved."

St John's School student Jess Whitehouse, 13, who lives nearby, said: "Brendan will always be remembered for his smile and for his laugh. He would always give you a hug when you were down."

Brendan had left St John's School, Marlborough, in the summer and in September started an engineering course at North Star College in Swindon.

He was starting his journey home from college on Thursday at about 2pm and was riding his scooter through the Oasis Leisure Centre car park when it was in collision with a Vauxhall Vectra car.

Brendan was thrown from his scooter and trapped under the car. He died shortly after firemen lifted the vehicle.

Dozens of floral tributes have been left at the crash scene by Brendan's college buddies.

One said: "RIP Brendan. Always loved you, always will." Another read: "You're a great funny lad and I'm glad to be your mate. We will miss you loads."

Scores more of Brendan's friends from St John's School and North Star College posted their tributes on the students' Bebo website. The flag flew at half mast outside his former school in Marlborough where headteacher Patrick Hazle-wood said: "He was one of those lads who you remember for being happy and amusing and having a cheeky smile.

"He was a delightful boy to teach because he gave his all, all the time."

we would like yo ask that at the funeral you wear your normal clothes that brendan would have seen you in - NO BLACK to be worn please.
flowers only be from close relations + friends the odd one from anyone else.
YAZ has asked that insted of flowers please could you make a donation towards a bench in BRENDANS memory and to the ambulance service!!!

the service will be held at chilton foliat no date has been set we will let you know as soon as it's set.
