CALLY & JUICE (Bionic & Breathe residents & promoters)

Cally has been DJing since 1993 and started his first residency in 1994, with 'Southern Exposure', at the time Wales' largest dance music event where he played once a month to a capacity crowd of 1,500. Since 1996 he began work at Wales' leading independent record store, Catapult in Cardiff. Juice started DJing in 1995 where he became a resident for Tick Tock in Swansea, which at the time was the most popular weekly dance club in the South West.

Since they both started DJing, they have also both had numerous other residencies and have played regular guest spots around the U.K. most weekends. From the end of 1997, as they were competing for the same bookings and playing a similar style they decided to start playing 'back to back' sets and have never looked back since.

Over the last year Cally & Juice have been the brightest stars in uber Hard Dance. Their uncompromising style and unique approach to their sets has won them admirers across the globe. They have emerged from their stronghold in Wales to play at the majority of leading Hard Dance events in the UK. As well as this they have also been made residents for Frantic and have also been signed to the world renowned Nukleuz DJ agency which boasts DJs such as Lisa Pin-Up, BK, Rob Tissera, Andy Whitby and Caroline Banx. They have also just had 2 full releases on Nukleuz Record’s Black label with their hardstyle monster ‘All You Bastards’ and their remix of Blur's 'Song 2'. In London they have been booked to play at virtually every leading club night including Convergence, Utopia, Frantic, Chemistry & the now legendary HardHouse Academy. The festivals are also not safe from the boys as they have torn up Escape into the Park in their native Swansea, Dance Academy in Portsmouth, Gods Kitchen, HardHouse Academy, Gatecrasher (NEC) & the world famous Creamfields. Also more recently Cally & Juice have also played abroad at Impulz in Holland, Trinity in Helsinki and have just celebrated both Bionic and Breathe’s 4th birthday events.

Residencies
Bionic in Cardiff and Breathe in Swansea are the two events run by Cally (with co-promoter Brian M) and Juice respectively. With artists featured at these events including the likes of Scot Project, Technoboy, Trance Generators, Tidy Boys, Lisa Pin-Up, Proteus, and of course bi-monthly resident Mark EG they both continue to pull in capacity crowds.

Productions
After a long break from producing and concentrating on their DJing career, Cally & Juice got back into the studio at the end of last year and their first piece of work 'All You Bastards' was an instant hit which has gone on to become one of Nukleuz's biggest selling records of 2004. they quickly followed this up with their 'Blurred' release which is also flying off the shelves, and have done a number of bootlegs which have been featuring in their sets over the past year, including covers of Ferry Corsten's 'Rock Your Body Rock', Boogie Pimps 'Somebody to Love', which featured on their CD of the Frantic Euphoria album and more recently Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. They are working on all new original material now which should hopefully be out by the end of the year.

It is impossible to mention hard dance in Wales without bringing Cally & Juice into the conversation. They’ve contributed more to the Welsh dance music scene than any other DJ or artist and have had a big role in making the scene what it is today. Whether its local up & coming back to back duos imitating their style both musically and with their behind the decks antics, or just by playing the European music they’ve been pushing for years while the rest of the UK has been hard house crazy.
