new song and other news
Got a new song, which could possibly make it onto the album. It's called Waiting (although it might also be called Maybe Tomorrow, not decided yet), wrote it the day BBC4 screened the documentary 'Dirty Tricks - The Man Who Got The Bushes Elected'. If you've not seen it yet it's on the iPlayer.
Untitled Instrumental in C has a name - The Kailyard School.
I've decided to try and do the artwork myself for this album. Got a printer that can print onto cds today. I have a test run on the album sitting in front of me just now, looks really cool with the CERN picture on the front.
So, here is (possibly) the final track listing:

02 - Answers
03 - Strange Situation
04 - Message Received
05 - Neither Do We
06 - Fifteen Minutes
07 - Waiting (Maybe Tomorrow)
08 - The Future And You
09 - You Say
10 - Return To The Start
11 - The Kailyard School
Possible release date:
I've a few wee details on the artwork/other stuff to check with Andy (not least on if Waiting will be on the final final tracklisting!
) then it's on with making the cds. I'm hoping that I can have them ready for a release date of Nov 1st, which is also the date of our next gig - Dirty Martinis, Kilmarnock, with Dirty Hearts!

To celebrate the fact that our new album 'First You Must Invent The Universe' is finished and due to be released some time in November, we're giving away a single! Click the link above to download Answers, plus two bonus b-side tracks!
B-side number 1 is Acoustic Djembe Thing, an off-cut from the ...Universe sessions, instrumental because we couldn't get lyrics for it.
B-side number 2 is The Universe Song, featuring Mr Andrew Thom on lead vocal!
Please download (it is, after all, COMPLETELY FREE!), have a listen, and let us know what you make of it all! And don't forget, you can catch us live on October 2nd at The Drawing Room in Glasgow. See you there!0 Comments 423 days

2nd album progress blog - Sept 9th
Getting there!
We have 10 tracks pretty much finished that will make up the 2nd album, and another 3 currently lyric-less. This has been the biggest problem I've been having on this album, loads of music and no words.
The album is going by the provisional title of 'First You Must Invent The Universe'. I rather like it, not sure if Andy's as keen on it. It'll do until one of us thinks of something better.
Tracklisting today. (may have changed again by the time you read this blog)

03 Strange Situation
04 Message Received
05 Neither Do We
06 Fifteen Minutes
07 The Future And You
08 You Say
09 Return To The Start
10 (untitled instrumental)
Andrew's New One, Test, and Djembe Strum still lack words. They may yet make the album if I can shift another writer's block. If not, we've got three tracks to work on for album number 3!

Hey
We're looking for and booking bands for some gigs at our venue over the course of the next 3 months.
We've got 3 gigs available for the last Saturday of the month during March, April & May.
Were looking for bands to play a set between 1 hour 30 & 2 hours long or we would welcome a combination of bands to cover the playing time together.
We've also got a band night on Saturday 11th April.
Set lengths & start times can be discussed to suit all concerned.
If you are interested in playing any of the above gigs let us know
Pyramid Club

i'll check tomorrow for free dates
it might be a bit tricky due to the lack of all the required equipment (lighting, backdrop, etc.)
).
plus finiding a suitable studio space.
on the other hand, we could maybe do what we did for All The Kings Horses and fart about in Kelvingrove Park for a day or something... or some old building like what we did for This Is Not A Drill??
saying that... i may be able to conjure up something from the ATKH shoot as those photos feature both of you (we could crop Matt out if needs be
i didn't, no... my phone has been doing some very strange things recently though!!!
