- The President's Award is the National Challenge Award from the President of Ireland to the young people of Ireland between 15 and 25 years of age.
The Award was established by the Government in 1985 with the President of Ireland as its patron. A council of 15 members is appointed by the Government to oversee the Award Programme.The Award is funded jointly by a grant in aid from the Youth and Sport section of the Department of Education and Science together with donations from private sources.

- 58 weeks; learn to play an instrument, paint, EDCL, learn a language etc.

- Any sport
- Venture Project
- Go discover! Do a venture project for for 4 days - walk 80km, cycle 120km or canoe, run, crawl whatever! Travel the minimum distance required over 4 days - challenge yourself and have fun in the process
- Finally.....
- You are awarded the Gold President's award. The Presidents award is internationally recognised - its a great asset on a CV, its fun to get involved, its challenging and rewarding!

hi im a ucc student and i jst did my gold gaisce there in 6th year bt iv to hand in my project book by the 31st of october i jst found out and iv nothing prepared and im nt too sure wats required to be in it!!!! plz let me knw any info u hav on it!!!!!! thanx a mill
Hi All,
Gaisce has been allocated a number of additional places for the International Award residential project in Portugal next month.
Full details of the project are available at the International Award website but basic details are below. We would strongly urge all Gold Award participants and holders to consider taking part in this one off opportunity provided by Gaisce and supported by Tar Eis Oir.
Gaisce will cover the particiption fee, hotel and subsistence costs. Participants will need to book and pay for the flight to Portugal.
