7 songs for dancing
6 battered Sausage
5 caaans of Bud
4 in the taxi
3 windows rolled down
2 quid a person
and a brandy to put ya too sleeep!!!

Monday:

Woke up on the couch in my friend James' house in Lahinch, where i had been staying for about 4 days, at 5AM as James and Josie were catching a flight to Wales.
Fell back asleep.
Woke up at 6.15AM when Timbo, James' house mate was going for a surf.
Fell back asleep.
Woke up again at 11AM, on the couch in an empty house, so i swiftly went down town.

Not much happened throughout the day, pottered around Lahinch all day and hung out with a few friends. Ended up going drinking that night with a few Dublin and Limerick friends, very random night with alot of drink and smoke. Fell asleep on the couch of their Mobile Home


Tuesday:

Woke up, not really knowing where i was, and who the other person sleeping on the other couch was, then got my wits about me and realised i had to get to Shannon by 1.30PM to meet with Dave Hope and get on the road to a gig in Offaly.

Got a call off Dave asking me if i would pick up some stuff in Ennis, so had to leave even sooner, driving with a hangover is neither fun nor legal!!

Made it to Shannon eventually, only to swap gear from my car to Dave's and set on the long hungover journey to Offaly!

Made it to Offaly without feeling all too sick. The gig that was on was a charity gig for AWARE, that was being put on by Mundy and the Enright family, in Enright's pub in Birr.

We arrived into the pub as the sound guys were "Planting Up" (a term i had heard for the 1st time earlier that day from Rino and Molly). Gave them a hand for a short while and headed off for food.

When we came back the first few acts had started to trickle in. the line up for the gig was:

David Hope
Lou McMahon
MacDarragh Deary
One Day International
Jack Lukeman
Mundy & Friends

There was a big Marquee with an amazing sound system, and the sound for the gig was extremely well done.

Unfortunately i didn't get to play this gig, which was a bit sucky but that's the way these things go. All the acts were amazing and i was Particularly blown away by "One Day International".

The gig was followed by alot of drinking, an impromptu game of Charades which was hilarious and then there was copious amounts of alcohol consumed and loads of songs sang till 6.30 or 7 in the morning!!


Wednesday:

Awoke in yet another strange room, with a pretty killer hangover, only to be greeted with the schedule for the day, which was a long drive back to Shannon to swap cars and head on to another gig in Kinsale, Co. Cork. Which meant another day of horribly hungover traveling.

Fast Forward to Kinsale.....

Arrived in Kinsale at around 7.30 and had to go meet Clem who was going to be playing the gig with us, and waited to meet up with Eoghan, the Bazookie player who was playing with us too.

That gig was on in Muddy Maher's in Kinsale and it went pretty well. No drink, lots of sleep, a good night all in all!!


Thursday:


4 mornings in a row now where i've woken up and been extremely confused as to my whereabouts. Today's agenda involves alot of sitting around, pro evo, tea and music.

That evening we travelled to Ballycotton to play in The BlackBird.

Dave's Sunroof broke and was now stuck half open, so we had to use cardboard and black bags to secure it, which made for an interesting drive.

when we arrived we saw posters advertising the gig for the previous night, which turned out to be their mistake. it was a bit of a disappointment as there happened to be a big crowd around on the wednesday night and it was fairly quiet on the night we were playing.

all in all, free drink and a few enthusiastic locals made it a pretty good gig!! Back to Eoin's house for more beers and a lesson in good music for me!!


Friday:

Another morning, another couch. Up early, have a fry, back on the road within an hour of getting up!! this time we were destined for Kenny's in Lahinch.

Stopped in Shannon and we took my car due to Dave's being broken. I dropped Dave at his mobile in Lah
