Mount Kilimanjaro Charity Trek - Marie Curie Cancer Care
Please visit my fundraising page.
http://www.justgiving.com/michellero...
I am taking part in the challenge of a lifetime for Marie Curie Cancer Care (registered charity number 207994) I will be trekking to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro over 6 days, from the 18th – 27th September 2009 and I have to raise £3,250 in sponsorship.
This is a challenge I have always wanted to do and decided it was more rewarding and worthwhile to do it for charity. As some of you may know I lost my mum to breast cancer in 1999, and have had many friends and other family members who have also suffered from this and other types of cancer, which is why I have decided to support Marie Curie Cancer Care, as it is a charity that helps sufferers from all types of cancer.
Located on the North Eastern tip of Tanzania Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest freestanding mountain in the world, Kilimanjaro is also the highest mountain on the African continent at 5896m, and is the setting for a truly amazing and challenging charity trek! Its snow-capped summit rises high above the dusty African plains; huge permanent glaciers flow down from the summit, spectacular views and beautiful ice formations are the reward for pushing your limits both physically and mentally. The terrain changes as you ascend the mountain, passing through thick forest, moorland and scree en route to the highest point of the crater,UhuruPeak. This is a challenging trek at altitude, climbing one of the most impressive and well-known mountains in the world.
If you require further information on the trek please feel free to contact me or go to http://www.skylineoverseas.co.uk/tre... .
If you would like to make an offline donation please contact me to send a cheque, or if you would like to make a donation in the form of a raffle prize.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
