Wonderland & Friends - Charity Album coming soon !! DONATE NOW !!
Charity CD by Wonderland & Friends – Coming Soon
Two year old Sofia Crockatt was struck down with meningitis in February 2007. Thankfully she survived but tragically her left foot had to be amputated and she lost a lot of muscle tissue from her right leg. This amazing little girl's strength and determination has been the inspiration for our fundraising, which so far includes a sponsored walk of the West Highland Way in April 2008 and the CD. For updates and secure online donations please visit www.justgiving.com/sofiacrockatt
We chose the Meningitis Research Foundation as they not only put money towards research but their mission is also to raise awareness of the symptoms of both meningitis and septicaemia. Please find enclosed a symptoms card, for more copies go to www.meningitis.org.
We are keen to help other youngsters and families get the help they desperately need. Whilst the conventional projects have focussed on diagnosis and death, there is a great deal of work to be done on aftercare for the many children who survive with significant disability and require years of specialist help.
Sofia has a long road to travel but is doing very well
The "friends" include
Fergie MacDonald
Brown&Branston
John Coletta
Dave Fleming
Gary Innes
Cach Mhor Ceilidh Band
Seeing Red
Brando
Arisaig's very own host-with-most David Sharpe of the Cnoc na Faire
More about the walk:
Team members so far: Steve Brown (Wonderland, Seeing Red, Brown&Branston) & David Sharpe from Arisaig, Tracy (Brando and Wonderland) and Nick Fleming and Tracy's dad Graham Souter from Banff (this is Graham's second time doing the walk), Nick Crockatt & John Williams from Manchester and Paul Rawing from Aberdeen.
