The Spice Girls were an all-female English pop group who formed in 1994 in London, England. They were a diverse group of five young women who embraced merchandising and introduced the term Girl Power into popular discourse. After releasing their debut single, "Wannabe", in 1996, the group went on to become a major pop phenomenon.

Selling in excess of 53 million records, they are one of the most commercially successful female groups of all time. They released three studio albums and ten singles and starred in the film Spiceworld, which grossed $75 million (US) globally at the box office. They have Certified sales of 13 million albums in Europe, 11 million in the US and 2.2 million in Canada.Total of nine number one singles in the UK,Three consecutive Christmas Number One singles in the UK (a record shared with The Beatles) for: ("2 Become 1," 1996; "Too Much," 1997; "Goodbye," 1998.Wannabe is the biggest selling single by an all female group.

      OMG I cant believe i've been a huge fan of the Spice Girls for 12 years. 12 whole years wow time flies. I have all their albums Spice, Spiceworld, Forever (which has some gorgeous ballads) and Spice Girls:Greatest Hits. Unfortunately i never had the opportunity to see them live in concert on their reunion tour because i never got an email so i was disappointed. So maybe sometime in years to come they'll do another tour because they will never get back together for good they've had their day and they will tell you that themselves. The Spice Girls were a worldwide phenomenom and i'll always have great memories and their albums to remind me. Luckily though Girls Aloud stepped in and took over were the Spice Girls left off and have been going for 6 years. They just signed a new 3 album deal with their record company and by the time thats been completed they will have been together for 10years. Not many bands last that long these days, The Spice Girls only lasted till 2000 but were fab.
