close About Me

Me, Myself, and I
The IPSC was set up in late 2001 by a group of established Irish human rights and community activists, academics and journalists who were deeply concerned with the current situation in the Occupied Territories. In partnership with Palestinians now living in Ireland the IPSC was formed to provide a voice for Palestine in Ireland.

We are an independent, non-party political organisation, run by volunteers all committed to a just and sustainable peace in the Middle East.

  • IPSC Petition: Make Eircom Say no to Israeli Company Amdocs

The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) has learnt that an IBM led consortium, which includes the Israeli company Amdocs, may soon win a major contract with Eircom plc for a new computer billing system.

Such a move would contravene the international boycott campaign against Israel. Political organizations and civil society within Palestine, and among others in Ireland the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, have called for a boycott and divestment campaign against Israel until such time as they reverse their settlement construction, illegal occupation and annexation of land in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

  • 300 storm Tesco and M&S in Cork

Stores selling Israeli products in Cork city centre received 300 visitors yesterday, Saturday, 17th January 2009, who delivered a message that they will not forget.

Numbers of protesters were down from last week's high, because of a severe storm. Nevertheless, 300 people turned up to a demo and march held in torrential rain and high winds which blew placards across and along the street.

It was intended to embarrass Tesco, Dunnes Stores and Marks and Spencer simply by standing outside chanting, while boycott leaflets were handed out to passers-by and shoppers.

However, people were carried away by anger and most of the 300, carrying placards, flags and banners, accompanied by a powerful portable sound system on a trolley which was blaring out "Boycott Israel", marched into the Merchants' Quay shopping centre, proceeding down the central "street" of the centre to the entrance of Dunnes Stores, which was blocked by a line of security men who stood arm in arm.

The 300 spent 5 minutes chanting in the "street" outside Dunnes and then marched thru the centre to the entrance of M&S, which was also blocked by security men. This time, however, the 300, bringing all their paraphernalia including the portable sound system which was still blaring out "Boycott Israel", pushed past and into M&S, marching thru the store to the Patrick Street exit, where they spent another 5 minutes chanting before moving through the city centre to Tescos in the Paul Street Shopping Centre where, again, they marched into and around the supermarket. One man was arrested at Tescos. The 300 protesters then marched to the Bridewell and demanded that the protestor be released without charge, which he was.

Don't think Osama and sadaam are our leada
We pray for peace, but the drama intrigues us
We all tryin to get to where the sufferin ends
In front of the Most High bein judged for our sins

During Hajj we walk, through Ramadaan we starve
Though you not eatin, there's a feedin of the mind
A defeatin of the demons, a seein' of the signs

And to the sisters and the mothers of ours
Who cover theyselves cause they're lovers of God
And To my Akh's tryin to stay on their deen
It gets mean especially when u stay on the scene
But don't forget the blessing's in the struggle
The Most Forgiving will forgive it if you stay repentant
    And hustle.

    Peace x x x

Catherine Connolly isn't just a Barrister and local Councilor, she was also a clinical Psychologist. She, above most politicians actually understands the Treaty and uses the treaty its self when campaigning, no leaflets or fancy packaging, just the Treaty.

Say NO to Lisbon "A vast majority of the electorate defeated this treaty threw their vote in 2008, and the 26 county administration is still pressing on, to force another referendum on those people who have already said no."

"It is another sign of how ignorant the state is when it comes to accepting the democratic wishes of the people, not only does it show how the state ignores the views and concerns of the people it also shows how inconsiderate they are when it comes to spending hard earned tax-payers money on a referendum that nobody wants."
