Big L was shot and killed in Harlem on the night of February 15, 1999, just blocks away from his home. He was only 24 years old at the time of his death.
R.I.P May 30, 1974 - February 15, 1999.
His early career began in a group called Children of the Corn with fellow Harlemites Ma$e (then known as Murda Mase), Cam'ron (then known as "Killa Cam") and Cam'ron's cousin Bloodshed. The group recorded numerous songs, enough to make a full length album. However, Bloodshed was killed in a car accident in 1997, while Ma$e and Cam'ron pursued their "hoop dreams" in both high school and college.
He was part of the hip-hop supergroup Diggin' in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C.)the prot�g� of Lord Finesse, Big L rose to be an influential player in the crew . Going on to feature heavily, L's first verse is widly credited to be on the "Yes You May" (Remix) with D.I.T.C. member Lord Finesse.
