- This is a Bebo Page for the Relating To Reality Young Girls!! Its a space for us to make comments about how things are going and what we like in our group and what we would like to change!

- Glen Innes in East Auckland!!
- How we got our name:
- All of the young girls put their heads together and came up with some different suggestions! RTR East Finest was the most popular and liked!
- What we do:
- We meet weekly on a Wednesday night - started up in August 2006 and we're gonna keep meeting until May 2007! So far, we've looked at Self Esteem, Confidence, Wellbeing, Communication, Goal Setting and Planning, and Exploration of Art!
- Who are we:
- We're young females from 12yrs old to 16yrs old that people in Glen Innes see as having potential to become somebody - we're learning skills that will help us to GET somewhere
- Who runs this youth group:
- Jolene and Tara, who are Youth Social Workers in Glen Innes!

The Ministry of Women’s Affairs (MWA) is hosting a special topic forum on Young Women, Work and Diversity: Aspirations and Expectations. This is part of the fourth annual New Zealand Diversity Forum, which will take place in Auckland from 25-28 August 2007. The MWA special topic forum will be held from 9.00am-1.00pm on 27 August 2007 at the Auckland Museum.
Why have a special topic forum?
Today young women have many choices to make about education and training, career paths, and how to balance work with other things they want to achieve. The Ministry of Women’s Affairs wants to get young women together to talk about some of these issues. This will include discussion about:
decisions they are making about study and careers
issues about work and other aspects of life (for example, travel, family life)
how these decisions and choices might differ from those made by their mothers or grandmothers, or even those that their brothers are making today.
The special topic forum will give young women an opportunity to celebrate the opportunities that they have today, as well as to discuss issues they are facing now and in the future.
What will the special topic forum involve?
The event will involve young women talking about their own choices and decisions about work and careers. There will also be a general discussion amongst panel members and the audience on these topics.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for six young women (aged 13-20 years) from a diverse range of backgrounds to be part of our panel. This will involve:
giving a 5 minute talk about the decisions they are making, or thinking about making, about study, jobs, careers and other things they want to achieve
being involved in a general discussion about issues for young women around employment, career decisions and work-life balance.
The participants will need to be:
available on 27 August 2007 to attend the forum, and some time before this to do some preparation (MWA will help with this)
prepared to give a short talk (5 minutes) to an audience of about 100 people and be part of the panel discussion.

ETHOS – Youth Forum
The Office of Ethnic Affairs invites you to ETHOS – Youth Forum
ETHOS is about connecting young people to discuss real issues and hear others ideas and cultural perspectives in a safe, fun and interactive environment.
We will be discussing IDENTITY, FAMILY and STEREOTYPES.
Saturday 26th May 2007, 10.00am – 1.00pm
We want to listen to what you have to say, so
if you are aged 14 – 24 years old, join us for a morning of:
• Entertainment
• Workshops
• Activities
• Lunch

All participants will be given Certificate of Participation for their contribution to ETHOS.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
-Parnell Trust is only 200 metres from Skycity Broadway movie theatre.
-Parking is available at Parnell Trust, please park in carparks with JUBILEE on them.
-The Link Bus stops outside the venue, hop off at the Parnell Library or the Parnell Community Centre, it is Bus Stop 545.
-Parnell Trust is in walking distance of Newmarket Train Station.
-If you need help getting to ETHOS please let us know and we will help organise some transportation.

I was wondering if some of you want to come to the Earth Day celebration this Saturday April 21st.
It's gonna be at Te Waipuna Puawai in Ellerslie starting from 10 a.m - 2 p.m. There are 2 free buses leaving from G.I at 9.30 & 10.15 a.m. The one coming back leaves TWP @ 2.15 p.m.
I wanna invite any of you to be a part of the day to run that rockin' game that y'all did @ Pt England with the recycling race. Are any of u available?
