so I am leaving the country! (at least for a few weeks). visiting relatives in Asia is so much fun except for the 10-14 hour plane ride haven't been there since 98'. can't wait to eat, shop, check out the rock climbing gyms in kowloon city and get lost on the massive subway system. i can understand cantonese fluently and even speak it on a very basic level, i just wouldn't be able to talk politics in cantonese... i definitly can't read chinese but that doesn't matter because mostly everything is already translated into English - for all those that don't know any history, Hong Kong was under British colonial rule for over a century and was only recently handed back over to China.
