- GMIT Labour is a branch of Labour Youth, the democratic socialist youth movement organised in most colleges in Ireland.
Established in 2003, GMIT Caitlin Maude branch was the first branch of the labour party to be established in an Institute of Technology.
The branch has run numerous campaigns since its establishment, including: Kill the Bill, Save Tara Skryne, and the "Give us Shelter" campaign to restore a bus shelter opposite the main campus of the college.
Membership is open to any student in any of GMIT's five campuses. We also have our own website so why not check it out

Labour Youth is running a campaign calling for the introduction of legislation so that those who traffick women into Ireland for prostitution can be prosecuted.
The government currently has no laws in place to make this practice illegal.
