That Wall

Its hurts to think, twelve years ago
Ninety-six lives to them that we owe

I knew four lads, who lot the fight
April 15th, a dreadful sight
People laid there, dead on the pitch
Friends and family, not moving a twitch

But twelve years on, nothing has changed
Friends and family, driven deranged
Crying for years, with nothing to do
Tension built up, it grew and it grew

How could those Bitters, not remain quiet
Sat in the Gwladys, ready to riot
Fuck all respect, it doesn’t make sense
They all still blame Heysel, they’re all fucking dense

On Monday I passed, ‘those’ names on ‘that’ wall
Weak at the knees, ready to fall
Jon-Paul Gilhooley, ten years of age
I stand there still, my head full of rage
