GLYNI, as we are more casually known, was set up in 1999 after an increased number of calls to Cara Friend's Lesbian and Gay Helplines. The project was funded by Comic Relief, which paid for a worker to get the group up and running. This funding only lasted three years, during which time the then members set up a hugely popular website. During the three years, a small volunteering team was established to fulfill the aim of a peer-led ethos, and this still remains through to the present day. We provide services to LGBT Youth across the North, and enjoy good working relationships with many Community, Voluntary and Statutory Agencies.
GLYNI runs on a Monday night. Session work not for you? Come along to the relaxed drop in on a friday, and hang out in a safe place and meet other young LGBT people. - Why do we do what we do?
- We believe that every LGBT young person has a right to exist, but more importantly, has a right, legal and otherwise, to enjoy full citizenship without fear, prejudice, discrimination and bigotry.
- What do we do
- Glyni runs on Monday nights from 6.30pm - 9.30pm, and involves self-development sessions, arts and crafts, Pride workshops, residentials, guest speakers and other various events. It's for young people aged between 16-25 who identify as other than heterosexual, eg lesbian, gay, bisexual.
Currently, we are developing a resource aimed at supporting young people through the Coming Out process.
We also provide befriending and e-mail support to young people aged 25 years and under throughout Northern Ireland. - New Members

Get down to GLYNI - CALLING all lesbian & bisexual women 16-25
GLYNI Young Women is a NEW group for all young lesbian & bisexual women 16-25. The group can offer much support for those of all levels of 'coming out'. We kick things off on Thursday 30th April at 6.30pm til 8.30pm. The group provides a safe & friendly venue where you can meet other young women and the opportunity to get involved in activities, try new things or just chill out.
Our staff are also able to offer one-to-one information, advice & support around issues affecting YOU & they recognise that your sexuality is just one part of who you are. You don't have to come along every week, or stay for the whole of each session if you don't want to, but we hope you will. Come along, bring a mate, it's your space & you can have your say as to what you would like to happen. Contact Caroline either bebo email, or phone 02890890202 for info.
