- Tutto su di me
- the dublin 15 branch was set up in 1987 to meet the needs of the local area. since it opened it has been involved in may different activities; most importantly those undertaken by our first aid unit, who meet weekly. members have participated in local, national, and international first aid competitions. we have had success with one member having won the red cross person of the year award and two cadets coming runner up in the ireland first aid finals
there have been many first aid courses organised for the local community and local employers. unit members provide first aid cover at concerts, discos, football, martial arts, hourse riding and other community events also with our new 07 ambulance we can now cover the local community to a even higher satisfactory level.there are other areas that the dublin 15 branch is involved in including therapeutic hand care service and the entertainment troupe. we are noe going from strength to strength. with your help we can grow even further
- entertainment troupe
- ever fancied yourself as a bit of a clown? our entertainmnet troupe brings laughter and fun to childrens hospitals. all training will be provided to help develop a range of performance skills including, face painting, ballon modelling and clowning. nothing seems to silly to do once youve seen the bright smiles and hppiness you can bring to a sick child

www.d15erdcross.org - therapeutic hand care service
- how would you feel about a cup of tea and a chat? sometimes a nice cuppa can do wonders, weve taken that idea a bit further and have now developed a therapeutic hand care service. our volunteers are trained in giving hand massages and manicures to long term hospital patients and the elderly. this boosts morale and sometimes a rare opportunity for social interaction leaving both parties with that all important feel good factor
- LEARN FIRST AID
- THE RED CROSS WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH EXPERT SPECIALIST TRAINING IN BASIC AND INTERMEDIATE FIRST AID RIGHT UP TO FIRST RESPONDER LEVEL AND LOTS OF OTHER QUALIFACTIONS IN BETWEEN LIKE BASIC LIFE SUPPORT, CASUALITY SIMULATION, MOULAGE KIT, RADIO OPERATORS, AND EVEN INSTRUCTOR
- DUTYS
- we do all sorts of dutys some for example are: martial arts, concerts, discos, judo, tv programmes, football, even monaco grand prix if your lucky, trade fairs and other community events please contact us if you would like the dublin 15 red cross to cover a duty within the area
- what does red cross get from you
- increased membership helps extend our services to those in need both at home and abroad
greater strength through increased numbers
involvement in more communities
new skills and experience - your red cross needs you
- all the work we do is only made possible because of the many volunteers who willingly give up some time to help others. we rely on individuals to join their local branches. voluntary service through membership is one of the fundamental principles of the red cross worldwide and we could not continue without your help.
the Dublin 15 Irish Red Cross unit meets in the blanchardstown youth service(main street blanchardstown) on wednesday nights from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
the cost of membership is only€5 a year for adults and €1 for under 16s

THE TIMETABLE OF THE DAYS DOWN IN LIMERICKThursday 5th July
The Irish Red Cross will be pleased to organise transport from Shannon Airport or from Limerick Rail/Bus station to the University of Limerick. Please let us know your travel details as soon as they are available by emailing Deirdre Ryan on dryan@redcross.ie.
Unfortunately, we cannot arrange transport from any other venue, but we will provide you with details on how to get to Limerick.
Dinner will be provided on Thursday evening on campus. Entertainment and great Irish 'Craic' will follow dinner at the Stables Club on campus.
Friday 6th July: Judges and Official Delegates
During the morning, the Judges and Official Delegations will have a sightseeing tour to Bunratty Castle in County Clare.
For the afternoon, the Judges will attend the judges briefing seminar to prepare for the competition.
In the evening, there will be a judges and delegates dinner in the Millstream Restaurant. The judges and delegates will then attend a reception before the Opening Ceremony. After the ceremony, there will be a reception for the Judges and Delegates in a hotel close to the campus.
Friday 6th July: Teams & Supporters
During Friday, the Teams and Supporters will have the option of visiting the historic city of Limerick. While there is not an official programme, we will provide maps of Limerick, with places of interest and we will provide free shuttle busses to Limerick City centre and back to the University of Limerick.
On Friday evening, the Teams and Supporters are invited to the opening ceremony, which will consist of a parade on the UL Campus and official Opening Ceremony at the University Concert Hall. After the ceremony there will be entertainment and craic at the Stables Club on campus.
Saturday 7th July
On Saturday, we will host the First Aid Competition. We plan to start the event by 8am, meaning teams and judges will be required much earlier to ensure we start on time. We will run the competition across the campus, using many of the natural features and landmark buildings on the campus. Supporters can move across the campus and watch the competition.
On Saturday evening, we will host the Closing Ceremony, when the results of the competition will be announced and the trophies will be presented to the winning teams.
After the closing ceremony, we will host a celebratory barbeque and FACE 2007 party, with a live band, dancing and fun all night.
Sunday 8th July

volunteers creed
"I thank Thee, Lord as a volunteer
For the chance to serve another year.
And to give of myself in some small way,
To those not blessed as I each day.
My thanks for health and mind and soul,
To aid me ever toward my goal.
For eyes to see the good in all,
A hand to extend before a fall.
For legs to go where the need is great,
Learning to love—forgetting to hate.
For ears to hear and heart to care,
When someone's cross is hard to bear.
A smile to show my affection true,
With energy aplenty—the task to do.
And all I ask, dear Lord, if I may,
Is to serve you better day by day.0 commenti 968 giorni
