- For those of you that havent heard of or been to a DIRTYdubbin event, where have you been?
DIRTYdubbin founder, Gareth Rossi aka SLEAZY-G has been hard at work over the last 2 years spreading the DIRTYlove around the London clubbing scene, with an army of followers at every event.
South African promoters, DIRTYdubbin, have played a key role in some of Londons best events over the last year including Pacha, Egg, Hidden, Turnmills, Space at The Cross, Renaissance Rooms and the massive 10,000 capacity sell out event Tranzmission at Alexandra Palace
Besides the big London venues, DIRTYdubbin pride themselves on their small events most of all. The DIRTY concept has truly become something of a new religion, with followers coming from across the country to witness House music in its most spiritual form; DIRTYbeats with rhythmic drums and Filthy Grooving Electro technology. Theyve given DIRTY a new meaning, and have put the words on everyones lips.

DBN VS CT VS JHB
Like a civil war without the casualties (unless you include hangovers and comedowns), this one-off dance spectacular pits the best DJs of South Africa’s biggest three cities against one another. As the name suggests, Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg’s finest spinners come together to see who’s best when it comes to throwing down funky house, electro and breaks.
“The SA music scene’s uniqueness lies in the fact that is still in the adolescent stage,” South African promoter Gareth Rossi told us. “After so many years locked in the conservatism of apartheid where having a good time was monitored by a backward un-progressive government, we are only now starting to see and enjoy the exchange of cross cultural entertainment.” With this in mind, expect a giddy collision of Jo’burg’s pacey house and electro, Durban’s chilled easy going house and Cape Town’s hip breaks
and funky grooves as 600 eager clubbers cram into Tooting Broadway’s Bar2Far venue.
As well as some of South Africa’s best DJs, including Durban’s Sweet Sarah, Cape Town’s Shylo and Jay Deep of Jo’Burg, celebrated live percussionist Jay On Drums will be in the house to give the party even more of a South African spirit. “South Africans are not as cynical or fed up with the ‘scene’ as most clubbers because we’re really only just

Turnmills review (by Jody)
Our night started with a trip to Turnmills like no other. Witches cackles and girly giggles would have drowned out even the noisiest of engines.
When we arrived I don’t think the doormen knew what had hit them as a school of girls able to destroy anything in their paths swooped down towards them.
As we made our way down the stairs, we were momentarily lost as one room flowed into another. We followed the rooms like a river leading to the sea and soon came across the ocean of a room that would be hosted by DIRTYdubbin.
The atmosphere grew and grew as more people swam through to T3 over the night, their minds awash with the sexy funk of house, freeing their bodies to the waves of the music.
The rhythms sailed their way through the sea of people; hands jumping through the air like dolphins through waves.
For almost all the night DIRTYdubbin’s room was the fullest room in the entire club. People who had never heard of them were entering, liking what they heard, taking their place on the dancefloor and entangling themselves in the DIRTYdubbin net. To say that the existing crew only had a good time would be a major understatement.
It has been a long hard swim against the current for Gareth to get to where he is today, but he's done it, and took pride of place at Turnmills like Trident on his throne, serving the people the music they wanted to hear.
DIRTYdubbin definitely proved themselves that night to be the pearl of the ocean!
