Man down, man down!
‘But he’s on the mend’ are the reports you’ll be glad to hear coming in from the sunny south east about our recently injured drummer, Sean, who apparently pulled a door down on himself last week! Ouch! That boy just doesn’t know his own strength! Never fear, O’Lear (y) will be back with us in time to rock out for 'The Vine' gig in Wexford next week (27/11/09).
So, a big thank you goes out to all of you that came to the album launch at Bewley’s. It was a lovely night and it was great to see so many familiar faces and a few new ones too! A big hello to the Norwegian couple that came to see us, at first I thought you had flown in from Galway which I thought was pretty cool but when my ears finally started to work again and I heard you had flown in from Norway, I thought you were mad things but very pleased you made it so big hugs to you both and hopefully the next time we see you it'll be in Norway and not Galway as previously thought (note to self, must buy a pair of ear plugs). For those of you that missed it, you have a chance to redeem yourselves when we do it all over again in Wexford at The Vine on 27th November (e-mail info@odimusic.co.uk for reservations). It’ll be a full band hooley (i.e. so long as Sean stays away from large garage doors). For those of you who are unaware of this whole band phenomenon, let me introduce to you some of Wexford’s finest, (and not bad musicians either) Sean O’Leary on drums and Lee Byrne on bass!
Recently, a few articles of the press variety have been coming in to the office so we’ll be putting them up for you to have a perusal through. I’m also going to put up a few lyrics and chords to a couple of songs some of you have been asking me about. My musical guitar theory isn’t the ‘maewest’ so if something doesn’t sound right it’s probably not, but play it anyway, that’s how I ended up writing ‘Crawl’! My secret’s out! Also up on the myspace player (www.myspace.com/odimusic) is a snippet of another track off the album called ‘Real To Me’. If it sounds familiar then it is, only not as acoustic as it once was (which is still available by the way from www.odimusic.co.uk). Come over, have a peek and say hello!
See you crazy kids out there!

Cantando Ballando!!...
....is not the title of the next ODi song (although now I think of it...) but the name of the funniest T.V. program I've seen in a long time! So last week I was over in Roma for a few days at one of my best friend's wedding and whilst nursing a (very over indulged in red wine, white wine and any other coloured wine left on the table) sore head the next day I flicked on the telly and was engrossed by what I think may have been Italian karyoke (apologies to any Italian popstars on the show if this was not the case) and really badly mimed, even I noticed (I grew up thinking Top Of The Pops was live, ok)! For extra comedy factor the audience were also on stage singing (and miming) with the contestants who consisted of what looked like the singer's aunts, uncles, grannies and other various extended family members plus 2 extremely short-skirted cousins with cowboy hats and boots! I have no idea what was going on but it was the best cure for a sore head I've ever had, just brilliant! Has anyone else seen this or was I just having another Father Dougal moment??

Right, so whats going on back in the real world then? Well the Eps been selling nicely, thanks to everyone whose downloaded it, bought it, burnt it (naughty naughty, but ok, so long as you promise to come to a gig the next time) or sat on it. Cheers! If you dont know what the hec Im on about then check out the front page again and press a few buttons on the new frustratingly annoying player, you'll eventually get to it! Needless to say, but Im going to anyway, you can get it at the following gigs at bargain prices and even more so if you're good at haggling at which Im not (my haggling skills were taught to me at a very young age from watching 'The Life Of Brian' so you'll probably end up getting one for free).

7 Oct 2008 Halo (E-mail me for guest-list passes) London

If for some reason you cant make it to any of the above then there's a few other things that you can do which would make our life a little bit easier and our bums a little less sore from sitting on them all day! Hmm maybe too much information there!
Mission 1: Fancy a trip to Prague? If you click on this link it'll take you to a little competition we entered to go on tour in Prague, and you can come too whayhay!
http://www.overplay.com/PragueTour.asp
Mission 2: Say hello to Tom Robinson: This guy seems to be turning into the new John Peel and is giving us newbies a chance for their fans (that's you by the way) to get in touch with him and put forward a track or two i.e. A SUPERMAN!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/to...
Mission 3: Make a cuppa and have a listen to the new track 'Real To Me'! Easy peasy this one more of a way to say thanks for all your hard work and if you're really feeling it then you can download it here http://www.elfm.co.uk/2008/05/odi/ (we would have put it up for free download on the new player but we dont know how to!) and if you're still in the mood for procrastination try this!

Ok thats enough dossing for now get back to work before your boss catches you, oh, whats that, oh, ok, you are the boss, well then go and make another cuppa and I'll have one too with a chocolate hob nob, thanks very much! xxxxx

Odi played a whirlwind of a gig on Wednesday the 27th of February just gone in Thomas Reads on Parliament/Dame Street.
They were phenomenal and once again Lead singer Claire blew the crowd away with heart wrenching vocals, with Dave on Guitar and backing vocals.
And they gave out bags of treats! What legends!
I love this band! (Claire's my cousin I'll have you know!) -
