  • THE DRUNKEN MONKEY HYPOTHESIS

    The drunken monkey hypothesis proposes that human attraction to ethanol alcohol may have a genetic basis due to the high dependence of the primate ancestor of Homo sapiens to fruit as a food source. Ethanol naturally occurs in ripe and overripe fruit and consequently early primates developed a genetically based attraction to the substance.

    This hypothesis was originally proposed by Dr. Robert Dudley of the University of California at Berkeley and was the subject of a symposium at the meeting of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology. Dudley believes that while most addictive substances have a relatively short history of use, ethanol attraction may have a long evolutionarily based history. He believes that fruit ethanol may have been a significant source of calories and that the smell of the ripening fruit would help primates locate it. Primates are known to have a higher olfactory sensitivity to alcohol than other mammals. The once-beneficial attraction to ethanol may underlie human tendencies for alcohol use and alcohol abuse.

    Each player must have one weakness selected by his peers
    Example:19. Going home before 1:30 A.M,aodhan always goes home before 1 A.M
    :14. Make it from the pub to the house with eoins hat,Eoin always wears his damn hat
    :12. Get caught by "this".Shane is a sucker

    CARD STIPULATIONS.

    1. 5 cards per player are given at the start of the night the objective is to gain as many by end of night.
    2. There is always a forfeit at the end.
    3. If they look at *"this" when taking your card it is cancelled out.
    4. Any arguements or disputes will be decided by a neutral party.
    5. First one to fall asleep loses all rights to their man cards.
    6. The game has to have a set time limit.
    7. Cards have to be on every player at all times.
    8. Taunting is obligitory.
    9. A single card can be placed on any bet that has been shook on.
    10. If you take a fellow players last card they must buy you a pint.
    11. Winner recieves drinks for victory the week after winning the game.
    12. Dudes only. Sorry ladies...

    How to win cards.

    1. Get someone to look at your log.
    2. If you can get another player to appreciate a mans ass.
    3. Touching a man's ass and being caught.
    4. Dropping a drink.
    5. Splilling anothers drink.
    6. Falling down while drunk.
    7. First one to fall asleep is fair game.
    8. Get a fellow player in the ladies bathroom.
    9. Cock Block someone on the pull (passively).
    10. Lose a shot drinking challenge. (Can be refused)
    11. Get a pint off sca out of his own money and show to another player to recieve card (can not be played by sca).
    12. Get caught by "this".
    13. Pulling a whitey.
    14. Make it from the pub to the house with eoins hat.
    15. Unsupectingly buckaroo another played.
    16. Fucking up the joint.
    17. Drinking anything non-alcoholic.
    18. First one to approach Eoin at 11:30 and remind him it's "Diet Coke Time."
    19. Going home before 1:30 A.M.
    20. Swap out a players drink and get them to take a drink without noticing.
    * "This" is in reference to the circle game.
