This small blog is a tribute to Lennon and Harrison:
John Lennon
John Lennon was tragically taken from this world on the 8th of December 1980. At 10:50pm on that day, Mark David Chapman deliberately shot and fatally wounded John Lennon in front of Lennon's residence, the Dakota building in Central Park West in New York City, when Lennon and Ono returned from recording Ono's single "Walking on Thin Ice" for their next album.
Nobody will ever forget the magic and humour of John Lennon.
As he said himself in Instant Karma:
'We all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun'
George Harrison
A former heavy smoker, Beatles lead player Harrison endured an ongoing battle with cancer throughout the late 1990s, having growths removed first from his throat, then his lung. His cancer recurred in 2001 and was found to have metastasized. Despite aggressive treatment, it was soon found to be terminal. He set about getting his affairs in order and spent his final months with his family and close friends. He also worked on songs for an album with his son Dhani, which was released after his death. During this time he was also reported to have made peace with Paul McCartney during a final emotional meeting, healing decades of hurt feelings.
