Meols Cop High School's Rewards evening was at the arts centre on Thursday, 29th November, 2007- 7:30 p.m.
It was a night for awards and trophies being given to students for attainment and endeavour throughout the school year, with interludes of dances and songs from our own choir. There were also special guests to give the awards and make speeches such as Chair of Cllr. Mrs. Maureen Fearn and the Mayor and Mayoress (who was formerly a student in my own form when she was at school) of the the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton. There were certificates for Attainment and endeavour in every subject from year 7 to 11, Gcse certificates for people that had already left and trophies for exellence for special achievements around school. I really enjoyed the night and felt really good getting an award, I think the night inspires young people to do well in school to get an award in front of so many people. I did two Dance Performances on the night, the first was Electricity which is a famous number from Billy Elliot which was choreographed by the awesome Stephanie Bull and starred Jamie Ball, Tom Rimington, My little brother Robert Highton, Michael Morris, Sam Brown , Bobby Saunders, Ryan Wright, Matthew Rothwell and was sang by Luke Grey. It was very easy to get the costumes as they were simply our school Uniforms! As an added treat the director Mr Allen asked us into the Gallery where for the second time we met the real Billy Elliot, Travis Yates! My second dance was the brilliant you can't stop the beat from Hairspray which was choreographed by Pippa Wills and starred Me, Tasha Ashcroft, Jamie Ball, Michael Morris, Ellis Mckenna, Tom Rimington, Lauren Stainton, Kirsty Wills, Sophie Marsh, Heather Gomersall, Rachel Wright, Emma Walker. The costumes were still fairly easy to do just black pants, white shirt and a fancy tie (although I considered wearing a bright yellow shirt !)

I get high grades, so I must be a loser.

Bottom line is that stereotypes are wrong, and the only way we can get rid of them is to make people aware of them!
If you agree that predjeduces and stereotypes are wrong then copy and paste to make people aware.
