In April 2007, my mum and 2 of her firends trekked 100 km (60 odd miles) of the Great Wall of China in memory of my cousin Martin Coombes. Martin died suddenly in January of 2002 after contracting menigitis. Within 24 hours of contracting the disease Martin passed away leaving a daughter and loving family behind, none of which were prepared in anyway for this tradgedy. To date she has rasied over £2,000 for the menigitis trust, and she is still fundraising, so do your bit to stop anybody suffering the way we have and give her any support you can today.

You made me smile and laugh, uncontrolably. You were easy to talk to and understanding. You spoke your mind and never let anyone think anything bad about you. You were loved by everyone, but especially me and vic. I can't believe you have gone away, and left us on our own. It will always be the three of us, even if the third isn't there. You left without saying goodbye, so i never got the chance to say thank you for the best 5 years of my life. I never got to thank you for being you shoulder, and what made me smile after. I never got to tell you how much of a friend you were, and sorry for all the fights we had. I never got the chance to tell you how much you meant to me, and how loyal you were to me and Vic. I never got the chance, and now all i can do is cry when i think of you. James Blunt will make me cry, because i lost a best friend, without telling her how beautiful she really is. rest in peace, you don't have to be scared anymore.sweet dreams and sleep tight
