- MUSIC:-
- Deep House through to Techno. Can take a bit of minimal but has to have something good about it - some minimal is just pointless! Have a big time soft spot for the Progressive stuff from the legends like Sasha, Cattaneo, Digweed, Lawler, Howells & Dave Seaman. Sometimes partial to a slice of uplifting Trance (please do not confuse with any hard stuff, anything harder than Above & Beyond gives me the boak). When it's time to chill after the madness of the weekend, some Downtempo/Ambient Electronic stuff is perfect - Underworld, Orbital & Burial is perfect for chilling out! Also been digging Kings of Leon & MGMT recently...........
- MOVIES:-
- Human Traffic; Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas; Trainspotting; 300; Death Proof; The Green Mile; 24 Hour Party People; Me, Myself & Irene; Pearl Harbour' Saving Private Ryan; Scarface; Goodfellas; The Shining; Eyes Wide Shut; Anchorman; Ace Ventura; A Clockwork Orange; Dumb & Dumber (basically anything with Jim Carrey, he is the funniest man alive); Ray; Walk The Line; The Acid House; The 51st State.......far too many to mention.
- SPORTS:-
- Football. Weekly 5-aside games at the Pitz (which we pay very good money for btw) are always good. Pint lifting.
- SCARED OF:-
- Wasps. Wee shits. Especially when you sit down on your couch to peacefully watch a good nights TV, and get stung twice on the erse-cheeks. Nearly hit the ceiling let me tell ye that! Monday mornings, and when it gets light outside during a party. Close they curtains!! Somehow developed a considerable fear of heights over the last few years. How weird is that? Surely that's something you're born with???
- GOOD TIMES:-
- In the zone on the dancefloor, DJ'ing, having my daily trawl of Beatport/Juno etc etc; in the good old Persevere with a pint in my hand. In my Deckroom. Even happier when the aeroplane you're on touches down on the greatest place in the world - Ibiza. There is no better feeling in the world. A few other ppl may back me up on that one! Moment of my clubbing career thus far.............DAFT PUNK @ ROCKNESS 2007. I'm confident nothing will ever beat it. Words cannot describe! Bring on the challengers is all I say!
- CLUBBING:-
- HOME - Musika; Unlock The House; NotSoDirty (R.I.P); Wired; Compakt; Stereotype; Tokyoblu, Progression (R.I.P); Afterdark/Kink (R.I.P); Persevere; The Wash; Decknight
AWAY - Pressure; Godskitchen; Shindig; Rockness; Ibiza; The Arches................ - LINKS

Off:beat swing open it’s doors for the first time on Friday 3rd April 2009 to bring you a very special Launch Party featuring one of the most exciting up & coming DJ's/producers on the circuit. Off:beat residents Jamie McKenzie, Ewan Smith & Chris Graham, who are currently making waves throughout the Edinburgh club scene, aim to bring you a session of the very best and upfront in Deep to Tech-House through to Techno. We hope you can join us to kick off a fresh and new era in Edinburgh clubbing and for what is gonna be a seriously good opening party!!!
We welcome Crosstown Rebels up & coming DJ/producer Jamie Jones to help us celebrate the Launch Night. Jamie first appeared on the scene playing at his own warehouse parties, before moving on to spend a few seasons working and playing in Ibiza mixing it with some of the worlds top players. As a DJ, Jamie Jones is one of the most reliable players on the circuit, and has recently been touted as the future of UK techno. His groove-led, deep house sets which offer a clear tip-of-the-cap to the Detroit sounds of yesteryear are among the most well-constructed and thought provoking around. Jamie is also known for rocking the world famous Circo Loco @ DC10 in Ibiza, and those who have been lucky enough to catch Jamie there will know we’re in for a treat this April.
Jamie Jones is best known for the deep minimal track 'Amazon'. Released on Dan Ghenacia's Freak n Chic output in 2006, the 12" has since become the label's biggest-selling single. 'Amazon' proved to be especially popular with the Germans, popping up on Tiesfchwarz's 'Fabric 29', closing out the RA.005 podcast by Kiki, and Steve Bug's 'Bugnology 2' compilations. He also released tracks on Poker Flat, Cocoon & Get Physical, among others. Most recently, he collaborated with Simon Baker to release new label 'Get Digital's debut track 'Kaskazi', which turned out to be one of the hottest tracks of 2008...............
