Native Texan Karen Brisoe's paintings are characterized by bold color and entergetic brush strokes, the subject almost always women; the medium is primarily acrylic paint, oil pastels and oil pencil on canvas.

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree, Ms. Briscoe's post graduate studies focused on her interest on art and interior design. These studies include courses at Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Louvre Museum, Paris, France,and The Glassel School of The Museum of Fine Arts and the University of Houston, Houston, TX, as well as Institut Gran Bleu, Cote d'Azur,France.

Ms. Briscoe has been a practicing interior designer in the Houston area for
twenty years and is registered by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners,is a member of the Texas Association of Interior Designers(TAID),
as well as the American Assocation of Interior Desgners(ASID). Her design
work has been published in major national magazines.

Ms. Briscoe has been a long-standing "Texas 200" Member of The Texas Arts
Council and was instrumental bringing the "Education Through the Arts"after-school program to several school districts throughout the Houston area.
