So much for forsight
Today was my first day in the new job, or was it my fifth? Time and space can get a bit confusing in this job. Since the last post I got the call to do some emergency training and also validate a new way of doing surveys at one of our big sites without having ever done this new method myself, already off to a good start it got better.
The wrong gear was sent up to sight. By a twisted set of coincidences including a company ten years ago inventing a new drill rod size, just to piss off the people about to take them over from the sounds of things, we ended up with an adapter that wouldn't adapt to anything on site or the rest of existence for that matter.
In true A-Team style we got a kludge together from spare parts and lateral thinking so that this one component was replaced by seven; and no Gillian, there was no gaffer tape involved (they had none on site).
So let's see what tomorrow brings.

The Irish invasion continues: Reinforcements
Right, I'll be honest, writing this blog is not a simple thing for me at times. This is the reason that there are sometimes long delays between postings.
At the moment I have my big brother over for Christmas and all that and to be honest he is more into, or should I say obsessive about bloging than I am. So for those of you who might be interested is his account of the trip so far see the link below. My own counter comments shall be added as they are required. Though I would like to say that the whole missing flight thing was more complicated than he makes out.
