Bloody good weekend, the sunday sesh was legendery. swimming in the sea was as cold as feck and not having a towel was not a good idea. Also not a good idea was jumping headlong through that window and having 15 people land on me as they jumped through. Off roading the caravan on the wheel rim with a flat may prove to be its last trip anywhere. Who set fire to the fire early sunday? and who was letting bombs go aff? Never snort lemsip.
If ur gonna land on some one, Ivan ramsay makes for a soft landing. human pyramids are best done with 6 people and not 16.. why did every girl i spoke to give me the kind of look ud get wearing a "i hate womens rights" t-shirt. Head banging has left me cripled. How many times do i need to show Audry the same dance before she gets it? Why am i sat here still drinking beers. the plight of my bangladeshi cleaners.
I was sick to hear my poor bastard cleaners only get paid £66 a month. Thats bad enough but to hear they havent been paid for over 7 months is a right carry on!
An oil company that makes millions in that time is treating these folk like slaves. They dont even have access to their passports so even if they could afford to leave they wouldnt get out of the country.
Most of them spend a year working everyday away from their familys and after a month at home they are back in this hell hole for another year.
I kind of got the feeling they couldnt be arsed to work, the moral is so low. I refer to them now as my "chain gang" as a way of highlighting the fact they are treated like slaves...
In the tea cabin I was reading the news paper. A mother was going crazy at her husband for marrying off the 12 year old daughter to a 60 yearold man as a way of re paying a debt. everything was leagal and there was nothing the mother could do.

Out in Al-Jubail Saudi again. Just got back from a beach BBQ, sat outside next to the beach eating fish salad an hummis wearing a thin shirt jeans and flipflops. Its was a relaxing end to a hard day. A warm sea breeze was a nice change from the polluted dusty air of the oil plant, I sat back and enjoyed a plastic beer.
Today at work I had been busy removing parts from inside the opened machine and using the crain to get the parts off the platform and down in the loading bay. the fork lift was taking the parts to an area used by our cleaners,
By the time i got down to them, the 10 of them had been crouching in the baking sun for most of the afternoon and the only tools the Saudi plant guy had given them was rags and WD 40. The tragic thing was is that they had started to break bits of pallet up to use as scrapers to clean the polimar out of the diaphragm grooves. I asked them all one by one if they spoke english in an attemp to find out who the idiot was that had put them to work with no tools and wasted half the day. They only spoke Bangladesh.
I came back to them after a trip to the stores with an arm full of screwdrivers, wire brushes, oil stones and emery paper. Ive never seen anyone so happy to be given a length of emery paper. Its was strange, they are only about 4 foot tall and skinny as rakes, some had long grey beards while others wrapped t-shirts round their faces to keep out the dust. they looked like a crew of ten year olds as i stood towering above them lanky as i am. As the desert sun set at about 5 o'clock they packed up, and each one shook my hand before they left. They get a hard time working out here as second class citizens. I just feel sorry for them given the right tools, at the end of the day we all just want to get the job done and go home to our loved ones.0 commenti 409 giorni

yo shame about Audrey send our love and youl have to book yourelf in the same place as tom I recon bro as kids are staying at ours. Normaly I would front the bill for now but we just had to give all our money to the venue and we still have no rings not paid for disco kilts etc so we have no money spare right now sorry bro. Take it easy and see you soon.

Nah i didnt bother going in the end, im saving my dignity and money for next weekend for grice fest! its basically an excuse for me and my friends to go around the pubs on a bus and get very very gricey. i'll need to get your book back to you at some point
