Most people don't realize what a devastating problem prematurity is: that it's the leading cause of newborn death; that it has reached epidemic proportions; and that the rate is escalating. The March of Dimes is the organization on a mission to fight prematurity.

As many of you know, my nephew, Nathaniel Jefferson , blessed our lives with his brief, but profound presence and taught us what it means to truly love another. Born in August of 2005, weighing barely two pounds, our little fighter pilot, Nathaniel, faced each day with the feat of overcoming hat day’s challenges. He was a fighter, indeed. In March of 2006, Nathaniel Jefferson left us to be in peace with the Lord Jesus Christ. Our Angel Nathaniel is missed dearly, but he will remain in our hearts always and forever.
