      The Pioneers improved their record to 6-1 overall with a 22-0 victory at Marquette on Monday, October 13th. Defensive back Mike McHugh had a punt return for a touchdown, and running back Henry Banks had two touchdowns, one rushing and one on a pass from quarterback B.J. Buckner. Backup kicker Steven Newlon made two extra points.

      Defensively, the Pioneers earned their second shutout of the season. Steven Newlon and defensive end Zach Doll each recorded two sacks, and linebacker Marquis Terry and defensive back Desean Sheard each had an interception.

      Kirkwood will play its third game in the last seven days on Thursday, October 16th, as they host Parkway Central High School at 4:15 pm.
