- I am Alex. Music is basically what I am. I love music of all types, I write songs, play just about every instrument I can get my hands on and I'm even a dab hand at singing. I'm in god knows how many bands, Mayday, Darklyte, Dragonfly and even a hip-hop acoustic hybrid (I think we're called Pretty Young Things). I love performing and generally entertaining people, it's what I want to do with my life and music's a good way to do it.
What else do I spend my life on? Well I'm studying some kind of media course at Preston university, my time is spent flitting between Preston and Chippenham for holidays. Travelling sucks. What else do I like? Videogames, films, exercise, eating, reading, the usual. I work at GAME and I can sell you your own ear. Or not.
Don't spend much money on going out and drinking these days. Maybe I've matured or maybe I just can't afford it. Time will tell. I get on with most reasonable people, if you know me feel free to add me, I don't bite. Not all the time.

- I'm not averse to moving once in a while. I like exercising with weights and shiz, and sportswise I like swimming, tennis and basketball. I like walking/hiking too. I also live on the top floor of a block of flats so I can do the drunk stairway marathon pretty good! Sadly I don't give a damn about any organised sports, frankly it's immaterial to me what team is currently kicking a ball a little bit better at the moment.

- Cider. West Country upbringing or no tastebuds? Strongbow (I don't like it but it's like water to me now), Kopparberg is king, Jacques, Bulmers, Blackthorn, Magners, Stoford Press, anything cider-related is generally my tipple. If there is none to be found, I take solace in girly alcopops or just shoot absinthe directly into my eye (that may or may not have been true).
- Books
- Last year I got back into reading in a big way and I can honestly feel my brain getting bigger. My greatest love is Terry Pratchett's Discworld universe, I really enjoy reading them. I've never known books to make me actually laugh out loud before. I also enjoy plenty of graphic novels ('cause I'm a geek) such as The Walking Dead, The Darkness and occasionally a Marvel special edition. I also thought Harry Potter was fantastically well written, but the movies prejudiced me for life. The two I've seen anyway.

Semi-pro recording up on Myspace!
Just finished a recording for my audio module, a nice little rockabilly cover of Oasis' "She is Love". Posted it at http://www.myspace.com/acousticflamingo - please don't hesitate to give it a listen. It was recorded over a couple of weeks in the worst audio studio ever, so it actually sounds quite good!

Duuuude. Duuuuuuuuuude... Seriously, dude.
Mind blowing. It can't really be expressed in words. Fightstar are the best band on the planet, Coheed are simply awesome (cover of the Trooper - wow). Don't really care about Madina Lake but they did play really well and were exciting. Circa Survive's singer is a bloody crazy boy and very cool.

Shine On
I am so pleased with myself right now. I've just written, in a flood of inspiration, the most beautiful song to escape my brain thus far. It's called Shine On and goddamn it's pretty! Rest assured I will be making a half-assed amateurish recording of it as soon as humanly possible (maybe in the week...) and posting it... somewhere for your delectation. Rest assured I'm getting better at songwriting. So smug and happy!

haha yeahhh we do make a great couple, i was showing my family pictures of you at my cousins daughters christening and they were all like "oooh he's very nice! Dont you make a cute couple" =] i also told them about what people where saying on friday and each and everyone of them told me to follow my heart and dont listen to anyone but myself =]
Ofcourse il pay it! it was me that suggested it lol its only a few quid, its well worth it! plus its really not that comfortable with 2 people sleeping in a single bed haha gets abit cramped!

Ah, sounds kinda confusing... oh well im easily confused haha does that mean you have no were to stay for 10 days? or is that when your at home? and im sure they wont make you put your stuff somewere else, they'll probs just say keep it in your room.

Nah well thay can say whatever they want! i want to be with you... i am with you, we make each other happy, and thats the way its gonna stay =] they can like it or lump it! we know how we feel, they reckon im on the rebound. God how wrong are they!

i dont even know why they said anything, its nothing to do with them really! ok so jackie and jamie introduced us, but it doesnt make it their business. Im pissed off by the fact that they were all saying "oh im really happy for you im glad you have found someone nice" and then suddenly change their minds when we go out for a drink and was supposed to be a really good night.
But i dont really care what they think, i know exactly how i feel about you and im not gunna let then ruin it, im happy for the first time in ages, so i wish they could be happy for us and leave us alone!
Thing is though i feel like im geting in between you and Jamie... your like best mates!
