They say that hind sight is twenty-twenty,
but looking back there's nothing I would change.
The joy and happiness you brought to my life,
was worth every tear that I've now cried.

Sometimes I wonder how things would be
if, for some reason there wasn't you and me.
Maybe I wouldn't have this regret,
nor have spent many nights drying tears as I wept.

Don't blame yourself for what's going on,
losing you has just taught me to be strong.
Sure, I'll admit I'm not doing the best,
but give it time and this pain will soon come to rest.

At one point I considered ending it all,
just giving up so no more tears would fall.
But as the days have slowly passed,
I've learned to let go, and leave this in the past.

I no longer feel this hurt and sorrow,
I've become numb, I'll make it through tomorrow.
So don't worry about me, just move on,
I'll just stay right here; a lonely girl in the shadows.

It haunts me, it won’t leave me alone.
Every time I turn around it’s there,
a constant reminder of everything I’m not.
I look into a mirror, but I’m blinded by my flaws.

I tried to change them, to become what you want.
All I want is to be good enough for you to love,
but every time I come to you,
there’s always a new fault you see.

I wish that you would look beyond,
and start to see the real me.
Yes, I want your love,
but can’t you love me, for me?

I long for you to look past my flaws,
to see who I truly am.
For now matter how hard I may try,
you will never see perfection.
