THE CORRECT STORY OF WHY I WAS IN THE NEWS
for those who have seen the news the other night or read about me online i thought that i would fill you in what really happened to put some people's mind at ease.
um i decided to do a walk for fun. it was the alex knob track which is meant to be a 8 and a half hour walk. After reaching the top (in two hours) and seeing the amazing views of the glacier, took a few photo's and lunch. I started jogging down the track after about 30 to 40 min i landed on a rock with my right foot rolling it/popping my ankle left then right and i took my shoe off as i couldn't put weight on the foot to see if it was broken as it looked broken i hoped about 800m or so to get some cell phone coverage. Once i got into a little bit of cell phone coverage (1bar) i phoned work and talked to one of the senior guides in the office. who got the ball rolling with search and rescue/rescue helicopter and the local rescue team which happened to consist of guys who i work with to come get me out.
After a few hours wait the first of the local guys got to me and the looked at my ankle thinking that is was broken, started to put me into a stretcher and carried me about 500m-700m to a point where they had a pully set up they would use to lower me into place for the helicopter to lower a paramedic into me. (once in the stretcher the local guides who were all guides i work with about9 or 10 gave me shit and called me every dirty name under the sun while carring me up to the pully point, but most of all the were reminding me how much beer i would be buying them one i got back!!!!!)
Once i was lowered down to where the paramedic could get to the put me in a "nappy" harness and dangled me under the helicopter for about 5 to 7 min untill the found a nice landing stop in a empty paddock. From there the put me in the helicopter. From there it was a quick flight to the helicopter pads in Franz Josef the filled the helicopter up and gave me some morphine - which i have to say isn't bad stuff. Once being "dopped" up, having a chat with the local cop and getting my bag of clean clothes and credit card thanks to my flat mate i was off to Greymouth Hospital.
it was a very nice scenic flight in the helicopter from Franz Josef to Greymouth hospital with a stop off in Hokita for some more gas i arrived to the heli-pad in Greymouth with a ambulance waiting for me. Once on the ambulance it was like a 2 min drive ( prob. cost more money to drive it there as i could walk to the hospital hahahaha)
Once there i had xrays etc done, everyone thought it was broken but it wasn't to the amazement of the doctors and rescue staff.'
So now i am hopping around with crutchers getting the piss taken out of me from all the guides that were involved and those who weren't. so great times being a guide down here.

BACK FROM AUCKLAND
am i glad to be back from auckland or what!!!! so much shit just tring to get up to auckland and back down so now i am very happy that i am back in franz josef. grad was the best it was good to see everyone hope that they stay in touch with me and everyone AT THE MOE I DO NOT HAVE A 027 THAT GOT STOLEN ON MY WAY UP TO AUCKLAND so yeah i will let you now when i get a another one which shouldnt't be to far away i think hope every one is in great health0 commentaires 733 jours

hay people! if you already didnt know i have moved down south for a job as a glacier guide on franz josef glacier. into my second week of training and loving every minute of it. heaps of really really cool people work down here and stay here as tourist. so yea it heaps of fun totally different that living in auckland. i am also flatting for the first time, flating with this really cool guy called shaun aka TEX so yeah. working on the glacier is great fun totally different as i said so yeah. missing my mates but hay i had to move down here for fun. i have got a new nick name or name down here and that is SPOON dont ask but hay it is nothing bad but yeah i think it is a really cool nickname if you ask me. i am coming up to auckland in dec for like 2 or 3 nights if i am lucky so yeah i might try see some of you guys when i get back up to auckland but i will be very pushed for time if you know what i mean well i am off to sleep have work on the glacier tomor so yeah hope everyone is in good health0 commentaires 763 jours

I actually got lost in the mts in Arrowtown last yr-was following a track that became a goat track-long story but I ended up climbing down the side of the mt's!all up was in the mt's for 17hrs!
